If i got us Alonso, would anybody actually care if Pastors car was unable to run? It's either that or a Chilton + Ericsson dream team....
Somebody came along with some money. http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/29454821 I wonder how he will compare.
Had a smile at Chiltons interview about it Phrases a racing driver should never use when trying to be supportive #66 "I am fully behind him".
He's behind everyone! But he does finish.. well, when he doesn't take his own team-mate out... or when he doesn't go launching his car off the sausage kerbs! Other than that he's a good driver
almost. I'm convinced the Chiltons have funded Marcus Ericsson's rise to F1 just to give Max somebody to beat...

Heh, at 3:57 he locks up the front left. Easily the blandest Grand Prix circuit since Valencia. But who knows, maybe it'll provide a welcome respite at the end of a troubled week for F1.
Yeh, its fundemetally flawed that. I appreciate that they are trying to reduce excess cost and refine efficiency, but Vettel has highlighted the fundemental flaws in the process. There should have been a greater scope of allowances considering its an all new formula. It reignites the debate around driver/team penalties.
Vettel is paying for early season issues. Seems the others will most likely make it to the end without penalties. Next season there should be no issues, except maybe Honda.
Gotta agree, the limit of 5 was a bit OTT given the introduction of the new Powerplants. I'd have opt'd for a limit of 7 for each component that makes up the Powerplants and then look to reduce by 1 next year and then sticking with 5 from 2016 onwards!
Still pretty defeatist from Seb. If he qualified 3rd, he'd start 13th. Surely better than from the pitlane? If he isn't going to give 100%, may as well stick Kvyatt in there now and put him on gardening leave. Hope he doesn't fizzle out of RBR under a cloud, ungrateful little sod.
I'm not sure on how they rotate their current powertrain components, but I would assume that he/they feel it may be a struggle to complete 3 full race weekends on the one unit. I do agree that he hardly sounds enthused by the current situation, whether thats down to the fact he is leaving or not - I dont know? I'd like to give him more credit than that.
tbh he has nothing to lose. so what if he uses a 6th or even 7th engine. Unless he will be getting all new modules that cause him to have a 25 place penalty
I hope not, but it could well happen, he's not had a car to his liking all season, the (RBR) most likely won't be working on this car anymore... But saying that, if the Redbull does have the best Chassis, it should go well at Austin, what it lacks down the back straight, it should make up on sectors 1 and 3, so he could well stick that car on the 2nd or 3rd row, agree with you, qualifying 4th and starting 14th is a lot better than 22nd and then getting stuck behind the Force India's when he gets closer to the top 10!
Maybe thats the other way to go, fresh units on all components every race and turn up the wick on everything, qualify 3/4/5 and take a ten place hit?
