DLTW, you are arguably one of the most insightful posters on this site. So what's the "he wouldn't have gone if Nicola was here" stuff? I accept that you know more than me about the politics of the place, but surely we did lose valued employees under Nicola? It's business. Good luck to Mr Radcliffe. Hello Mr Replacement and the business goes on.

I think he may have had his tongue in his cheek. In my two conversations with academy coaches (yes, a whole 2!), we have mainly talked about biomechanics and Matt is held up to be a good physio, but a disciple of Mo (Gimpel). Not so great on the prehab, but there are very few physios in football that are. Good, but replaceable.

Can we now change that bloody annoying "Let's all have a disco" to "Let's all have a meltdown"?

Shock result, an employee from SFC is offered what is sure to be a better paid job with another club and chooses to accept. What I love about this story is that it continues the "MUFC in headless chicken mode" theme that has begun to run.

Pretty much every drama queen post in this thread is sarcastic.

We have lost backstage staff before without blinking. We lost our head groundsman to new Wembley for a start. It is interesting that the Mail think it worth commenting...partly because of going with the 'United in trouble' theme and partly because it suggests that everyone thinks that what Saints have must be worth having.

Yes, don't worry - I was being sarcastic. :)

Mo Gimpel is one who really runs the sport science/medical department and I'm sure between himself and Les Reed they'll find an able successor, if they haven't already.

How long has Matt been at the club? Honestly can't blame him for going to Man Utd. Not just the profile but the fact that he is from the NW of England anyway. Can't help feeling that his skill and presence here will have helped to build an elemenet of natural succession. We should be able to attract soem of the best in the business if not.

*Passes the salt shaker*

Please, take a pinch.

"The #saintsfc meltdown continues - physio Matt Radcliffe due to link up with #mufc in due course :-)"

"#saintsfc Radcliffe has not been 'stolen' by #mufc as some would have you think - his family are up north, he's from there & job came up"

Too sensible. We haven't had a panic for far too long. #headlesschickens

Is it "breaking news" on SSN yet? Has David Cameron or Nigel Farage given their comment to the media?

Yes, apparently on finding out that Radcliffe is from the NW, Farage was allegedly heard to mutter that the dirty, Northern, Foreigner is welcome to head back oop there.
