Best Tackle Ever Seen....not a porno thread before anyone starts

Go for Richie Pitt at Wembley in 73 on Allan Clarke for obvious reasons....

How about a few Joe Bolton ones?

Second the Richie Pitt tackle. If I remember right it was direct from the kick off.

Joe Bolton defending the Fulwell End against Everton.

Joe had been pushing up with the attack and was in the centre circle when a ball was dropped midway into our half down the line.

The Mighty Joe Bolton set off towards the touchline, like an Exocet, at the same time as the Everton winger on an inevitable collision course.

The Everton lad arrived 3 paces ahead of Joe and pushed the ball 20 yards ahead of him <doh>

The entire crowd grimaced as they waited for the impact then ................ bang!!!!!!!!

He was knocked into the air and crashed onto the running track, only the lads in the paddocks stopped him landing on the Clockstand terrace.

Joe jumped up, grinned and turned to the referee to await the notebook coming out.

The crowd were howling with laughter 'cos they'd seen the notebook being taken out as soon as he'd started running <laugh>

Was never a fan of his but Jackie Charlton when England played Scotland the year after we won the World Cup, Scotland beat us but it was a cracking game of football. Typical scots hate the English blood and thunder type of match, Jim Baxter tore us apart. Anyway can't remember who it was but some porridge gobbler winger came hurtling down their left wing chasing a 50/50 ball with Charlton cutting across from centre half, neither backed out and both gave it 110%, result was Charlton broke his leg but cos there were no subs back then, he came back on after 5 minutes or so all strapped up. They put him up front out of the way and the lanky twat went and scored as well.

I recommend anyone to search it out and give it a looking at, Football as it should be played, none of this poncing about diving all over the place.

Remember that well and I remember grimacing, knowing what was coming. Only other time I can remember grimacing was when Gavin McCann and Patrick Vieira both went in for a 50-50, both of them went in full blooded

It was a very surreal moment mate ...... the whole ground went silent and time slowed down to a 10th of normal speed.

Not being funny mate but how can that Keane one be either the best tackle or your favourite. He's ended the guys career for no good reason, that's a disgusting thing to do to another person whether they're a footballer or a factory worker.

I know you're a United fan but come on.

    That's a myth.

The injury that ended Haaland's career was an old injury to the knee that keane didn't try to snap.

Maybe so, but the fact he tried to snap any part of his body is enough to make him a **** in my book. It doesn't really matter if he was successful or not. His motive was so f*****g pathetic as well, the mentality of a child.

Ha ha well fair enough. I must admit I'd always been under the impression it had ended his career but it seems you're correct. Either way, c**t ahoy.

It's one of my favourites for all the wrong reasons, I'd agree with that part, but sitting out for months thinking about some prat who said you (Roy Keane of all people) feigned injury, who never apologised for what he said, nah pal, that **** deserved what he got.

"I'd waited long enough. I ****ing hit him hard. The ball was there (I think). Take that you ****. And don't ever stand over me sneering about fake injuries".

I'd be very surprised if you condemned Roy Keane swinging for Shearer.

I have no idea why you lot think he's such a ****, Niall Quinn was taking you down to league 1 and Keane saved your bacon, just because he didn't do a great job in the PL I think you should still think of him as a pivotal part of your re-emergence as a top side.
