You're so full of **** NOF, commercial assets are over 50% of our income, so while we are a modest 10th in the worlds richest clubs chart it might be worth asking yourself is finance more important than success on the pitch? Yoonited were/are? the richest bestest biggest club in the whole wide world, but it hasn't stopped other clubs being successful. Enlighten yourself NOF, Chelsea and City are now light years ahead of yoonited, your team are now living amongst the mortals and are not as big a scalp for away teams as Chelsea and City. Welcome to the real world. #thefergiefearfactorhasgone
Don't waste your time hoke, while Martin Edwards was spying on ladies emptying their bowels LFC had at that time a winning formula.
See you ya manc ****, if you come on our board don't start with the "dipper" ****. Because mancs are EXPERTS at it.
It might be worth asking yourself why you don't have either??? At least United have had one or the other, or both, over recent years. And why you have to refer to the likes of Chelsea or City to make the comparison instead of Liverpool?
Best way to put it is, when we ruled the roost we had to do it with our own generated income, ok times changed but just like we stayed to long in the "bootroom" era while Utd moved into the modern era Utd in Fergie's last few seasons never modernised in this cash driven era, and what Utd have spent so far is just the tip of the iceberg if they intend to compete.
Financially we have kept up, but on the pitch and in terms of players, we definitely fell behind. Agree we're going to need to spend a fck load to get back, but it's the same for Liverpool and Arsenal also. It's the reality of the modern game. I don't like it, personally I think it stinks. All I'm interested in (craved for over the last 4-5 seasons) is watching us play some entertaining, attacking football (and maybe a few trophies along the way if possible).
so utd will go bankrupt buying overly priced average players.... good good, we are all in agreement then.
take it this is all a bit of fun lol. but for me it makes sense for utd to do something like this, not so sure on the travelling part though ie how far, they have a cl squad but no cl, so need to keep players keen and fresh in case needed for prem. we didn't do something similar last season as we only had a squad (i say squad but squad was ****e, first team brilliant) barely setup for a title challenge that alone anything else, utd have that luxury this time round so why not make the most of it, and i should imagine they hope form will come to some of the players both first team and backup options. i hope it back fires obviously but i can see why both commercially and fitness wise (match sharp)etc, we needed the week for our players to rest as we had literally no back up options, or anyone good enough to rotate with.
This would be awesome!! I Wednesday game in the arse end of Qatar being spanked by Al Kharaitiyat followed by a Saturday afternoon being spanked by Crystal Palace
I can see it too. When you have very expensive assets, why not use them? They will bring extra revenue without too much hardship. I can see their manager getting extremely annoyed if they have to go Japan with 3 days of travelling and jet lag but if it is a couple of hours and playing in good warm weather why not? I am surprised we didn't think of that last season. They'll be stupid not to stipulate that these matches are only friendlies and that they are not going to bust their guts to win them.
well if utd are flying AWAY to play meaningless friendlies then its rather pointless to disrupt thier game preparation
