Both Lee Brown and Tom Parkes impressed manager Paul Fairclough on a two day national training camp at St Georgeâs Park recently and has now been called up to represent England as part of a 16 man squad, which will fly to Turkey next month for the crucial International Challenge Trophy match. Both players have been watched on a number of occasions by England C scouts and will now link up with the rest of the squad, which is comprised of the best non league players in the country at the moment, for the encounter with Turkey in Istanbul on Tuesday 14th October. They both should be able to play for us before the England game. We play Aldershot on the 11th October. So unless they get an injury while away or if DC thinks they are too tired, I believe they should be back in time and able to play against FGR on 18th October.
FGR have two players in the squad too, so that evens things up. It's great for Lee and Tom, wish them all the very best and fingers crossed they come back fit!
We dont have any on stand by. Contingency Squad: Jordan Keane (Alfreton Town) Chris Stokes (Forest Green Rovers) Chey Adams (Ilkeston) Jon Nolan (Lincoln City) Jordan Burrow (Lincoln City) Louiezos Theophanous (Staines Town) Luke Young (Torquay United) Ryan Bowman (Torquay United) Joe McNerney (Woking) Andy Coughlin (Wrexham) Connor Jennings (Wrexham)
I just seen this on our OS... "The pair will be picked up after Rovers' game at Aldershot on Saturday, October 11th. They will then travel to Istanbul on the Sunday and return on Wednesday 15 October." http://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/article/england-c-call-ups-1978960.aspx
The Post doing their usual thing... Reporting utter crap about Rovers. Here is their story about our call ups saying the players will miss the Aldershot away game They did their story well over an hour after our OS reported that the players wont miss a game. Just total crap from the Post http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Bristo...C-squad-game/story-23019471-detail/story.html
