Got you. Not we didn't really. But it is so clearly needed and has been for seasons. It seems so obvious. I want to lift the gloom here. All of the threads seem to be on the same doom tone. Harry crap. Rio crap. We fans arguing about who is crap. No hope. No striker signed that has come to scare the opposition. I must admit Charlie's goal was something to behold at the weekend. I was just bleating that he seems a few seconds off the ball all the time and that he needs an extra touch and then brilliance. But how often will he get the ball playing alone up front vs the world's best? What if / when he gets injured - it seems for 2 mins on Sat that he had done his hamstring and the MD thread started on a bigger gloom spiral then stopped as he recovered. We would be really screwed if / when he gets injured. Can we really expect our season to hang on how many games Charlie Austin makes? I watched the Burnley match. They look scared to score now. Like a HooDoo is upon them. Let this not be us. Can we imagine strikers on a bench for Chelsea away - oh no - we only have one spare... gonna be a long season of pain if we do not build in this one area, but them supporting QPR was never supposed to be easy or we would have all gone of Arse or Manure etc.. Still - if we start each game with so much negativity in the stands and we are the fans - would take a huge amount of Paddy Kenny party favours to lift us forward this year...
Yes, that was a wonderful individual effort by Charlie - based on our gritty 2nd half performance, if Niko's free-kick had snuck in we could have got out of there with a well deserved point.
I think its a great place Eamon State of mind mate Yes there is a dip but we should be proud of our contributions esp yours you brighten up the darkness
"......................We would be really screwed if / when he gets injured. Can we really expect our season to hang on how many games Charlie Austin makes?................" Why not? To read some of the rubbish spouted on here how unlucky we were to lose him last season, how it left us short and what a miracle Redknapp performed to get us up, it really cannot matter that much. Harry will save us from any disaster. Haven't you learned that yet?
