Howdy, not bad mate apart from the obvious ****hole we are currently occupying, just like the rest of us sick to death and really regretting renewing as it's going to be a nervy gut wrenching season just don't know whether I have the stomach for it. I love the club always have and will, used to get so upset and angry when we lost I mean to levels you could probably call depression but now I am almost not caring anymore and it's just not worth the grief anymore. I really have better things to be occupying my weekend like my family. Anyway rant over how are you?

Most likely to be "yep, tell him he's gone" followed by I think "yeah, from me" or "it's happening".

    1. So doesn't Pardew look at his squad, work out what identity he wants to create in parallel with what he has and play to strengths? I have not heard anyone claim Riviere is a "one up top" striker. Neither is Cisse, Perez or Arma. Both benefit in a partnership. So why the fook aren't we playing two up front?

    2. At the moment, he is garbage, he needs to be integrated differently or played in his proper position - you'd hope the manager, again, knows what this is. If we play two up front, however, the need to "accomodate" Cabella is easier. And if he plays wide left of a midfield 4, would he find it easier? Who knows, but not Pardew.

    3. No argument, actually. Kind of negates 1 and 2, because he's so limited we're out of luck anyway.

Like I say, everyone plays one-up at the moment. If he drops one midfielder to make way for another awful striker, it is to the detriment of the entire side!!! We have better midfielders (just) than strikers, so playing more of them makes sense... He genuinely couldn't have played Cisse for 90 minutes tonight anyway... so who was going to be the other one? He played Gouffran up top for about 15 minutes, and it let Stoke get on top!!!

We have to play 4-5-1, the next manager will play 4-5-1, as will the one after that (so long as the vogue doesn't change)... only difference is, by the time they come in, maybe our better striker will be fit enough to knock Riviere to the bench.

Hypothesizing and saying "what if" with this squad seems pointless... I think Pardew has hit on the best combination, of what is an awful squad to pick from. I certainly don't see how moving a player one position, or playing someone we all thought wasn't good enough (Obertan or Sammy) would be preferable or better. Honestly, Pards is screwed whatever he does.

Looked like yep, that's him... He's gone, it's happening.

He couldn't have known the cameras were on him at that exact time so it certainly doesn't look good for AP.

To me, this is the most useless quibbling on Earth. People who want Pardew out are being massively short-sighted. We've all agreed that this squad is barely mid-table at best, and will play "functional football" at best, and that's not going to make anybody happy, is it? You'd take it now, sure, but given the disregard we give cups, mid-table pleases nobody but Mike Ashley.

If we get Pardew sacked, the next manager won't have this lot playing like Barca... He won't turn them into world-beaters. He won't question Ashley, either, or he'll get sacked... So what's the best you're hoping for here? Avoiding relegation?

For what it's worth, I don't think we'll go down, but let's play it out in your fantasy world guys... We sack Pardew and get a manager who helps us stay up... Now what? There's not going to be massive-scale investment... We're doomed to the same cycle... Is that what people want? Is the PL survival all we can hope for?! The owner's attitude is all important here, and quite honestly, it doesn't matter what league we play our football in, we're not going to be competitive with him in charge.

Pardew is the smallest cog in this ****-shoveling machine, vent at the right person for god sake.

I might be wrong but I think we all agree. However we cannot change Ashley, but with Pardew even hope is gone. At least that change offers hope which is all I want right now.

Sack him. Won't solve the problem as I agree with JPF, our squad is sub standard due a warped transfer strategy. However it will at be a change. Think he is sacked tomorrow. Mike seemed to make a gesture. I still think Cabella might come good but he has been awful. Colo all over shop for the goal, dropped in and meat and drink for crouch. Krul is pissing me off, he just refuses to play out. Colo looked sick of him. Dummett did well. Gouf awful, tiote and colback did ok but no guile. Overran and sameobi gave much more which us damning. Rivière is not capable as lone striker, why did Pards not leave him on to play with cisse? No Armstrong? We lacked guile, he showed it! Sissoko just frustrates wherever he plays. Janmaat had a tough time, willo did ok

Krul - 3 - Saved well from Moses... but other than that, didn't move for the Crouch goal or the Arnie strike which hit the post... Didn't even bother to pretend he was going to move... there's no way he should have been left flat footed for either of those.... Kicking was abysmal, kept putting it in the stands with time and better options available.

Janmaat - 5 - Not fully fit. Moses tortured him down our right hand-side, but he was given licence to bomb on so can't blame him too much for that. He added to our attacking play, but wasn't as effective as usual.

Colo - 5.5 - Got dwarfed by Crouch. Can't really blame him, the cross should be stopped when we know Willo and Colo are too short to stop the big lad. Usual dictating passing at the back with Tiote, but not any better than average tonight.

Willo - 6 - Played ok too, one amazing diving header clearance before the Arnie shot.

Dummet 6.5 - Best attacking player! <yikes> Was caught out lots as per Janmaat, but going forward he was handy!

Tiote 8 - Honestly, can't say it enough, he's the best player amongst this rabble. He's still not fully fit, but he is the one instrumental to making Willo and Krul play it on the floor, and keeps our side ticking over. Was an absolute beast at the back in several great breakaway moments for Stoke. He shags who he wants, and he's f***ing better than this, I tell you... Was our best player tonight in my opinion.

Colback 5 - Meh... Not as good as his first few displays, but he's not Paul Scholes, he does his job and played ok tonight. Missed a sitter, but at least he was giving an attacking option.

Sissoko 6 - I thought he was slightly better than usual. Competed and won headers, ran and offered support in attacks, was pretty useful.

Cabella 3 - And our survey says duh-duhhhhhh.... Carp.

    Gouffran 3 - Ditto Cabella.

    Riviere ? - I refuse to rate a guy who doesn't exist.

    subs:

Obertan 6.5 - Came on and put the ball in the box on the floor, created some problems.
Sammy Ameobi 6 - Ran at the defence, unlike Cabella, and again caused them some problems.
Cisse 5 - Had beggar all service, made some poor runs, he's still a long way from a 90 minute match in my opinion.
