I watched your game online (yes I am obsessed ) and you are only a couple of strikers away from being a half decent side. That said, you'll be in for a rough ride if you can't find a couple in January. Poyet has you playing some nice stuff at times. Although in contrast to when I saw you against Everton at the SOL, you now look better off the ball than you do on it. However that could be due to lack of movement and options up top.

They aren't the same type of player though. Not really a fair comparison. We have Tiote who is just as important to us and our fortunes have upturned somewhat because of his return. Players like these are very important. If Man Utd had a Tiote or Cattermole (although to a higher standard) their "weak defence" would be less of an issue.
I am a little disappointed by the performances of Fletch and Wickham. I expected them to hit at least 10 goals per season and that hasn't happened. With players like Rodwell, Johnson and Giacc creating chances now, they have no excuses.
Fair point but Going back a few years ago it was either Jack or Catts that got picked for us, and Catts was always first choice.

My overall impression is that we are starting to become very solid. Yes, at this point in time we lack a cutting edge. It's going to take a bit time (few transfer windows) to sort this one out because the type of player we are looking for will normally come at a decent price. We look a lot better playing an uptempo game. With two attacking full backs for the first time in such a longtime it added a different dynamic which was great to see. I thought Alvarez looked good when he came on. Hopefully in the future he can be the key to unlock the cupboard. We are only three points behind Man Utd in seventh.....home game next week. Nine new players in over the Summer...it was always going to take a bit time.....I think it looks very good!!!
