I just want to say what we all thinking and that is a huge thankyou to the board for giving Chrissie the funds to bring such quality players to the Valley. Apart from any fees that have been paid out, there's also the wages, signing on fees, bonuses and add-ons. It can't be easy to juggle our finances. Mr Slater & co have been true to their word and I hope the team under Sir Chrissies guidance will repay them at the end of the season.
Some decent central defenders in the same style and I may consider my Charlton glass to be definitely more than half full.
Can I echo the sentiments here without declaring my love for Slater, or is it an all or nothing thing?
Slater said he`d spend money....many said he was full of BS but he has delivered,so its a thank you Mr Slater and co from me.
In my opinion, they have spent wisely. It amazes me though, that we have not been outshone by other clubs interest in the players we have signed. The message must have been clear...WE ARE BUILDING A PROMOTION TEAM.....ONE CAPABLE OF FINISHING IN THE TOP HALF OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP IN 12/13...........ONE THAT COULD CONCEVIEVABLY DO A NORWICH WITH CONSECUTIVE PROMOTIONS
yep there were a few posters doubting the credibility of our new owners, this has been put to bed now with all the new signings the only question mark I have though is has the money for the new signings come from the sale of Jenkinson, release of Racon's wages etc or was this already budgeted for? makes for interesting thought if we don't get promoted
I can see where you are coming from Martinho, but the board did clear our debts at the off-set and gave Chrissie the cash for BWP. The money spent on the recent signings may well have been from Jenkinson's transfer fee...I can't help wondering who are backing Slater & Jiminez.......I'm sure all will be revealed someday....the day we are in the Prem no doubt.
Remember the board said we were losing £4m a year, so even if we got £1.5m for Jenkinson and the board spent no money they would still have to stump up £2.5m loss for the year. It looks to me like they will shell out near £2m in transfer fees this summer, therefore increasing their overall loss to £4.5m this year.
