He'd probably be more likely to get sacked for going against MA and trying in the cups than he would for finishing 17th in the league and having every fan on his back.

3-1 to Palace.. Pardew WILL play a strong team (virus being taken into consideration) to keep momentum going etc but, more importantly to keep the pressure off himself a TINY bit ..Buuut, its Pardew, so we will hoof it up to the big fellah (all 5'-7'' of Cabella, no doubt) followed by a couple of LB substitutions and a magical half time team talk ..and we lose. Plus, we then have a knackered 'strong' team against Stoke ...

Maybe I am just getting cynical in my old age...still 3-1 to Palace

Our next match is on Monday so there is no need to rest players for this one. Of course they will do.

Well, if we persevere with this fcking useless formation he's tried to copy from Mourinho, it'll be a struggle.

I am not sure what Cabella is? He's being played as a RWF, is this his position? Or is he a floating number 10 type? Anyone know?

Sissoko in the middle still doesn't work, but we'll probably try again anyway. The back four will be as strong as it can be, because it's Pardew and he rarely changes it, so expect Dummy to play again as an alleged better defender than Haidara. Elliot in goal guarantees at least one goal to the opposition, and the defence's record in general is utter gash so unless we're scoring 3 or more tonight we're beaten.

Riviere up front again as well, because Pardew loves to think that by persevering with players who are garbage he's somehow boosting their confidence. It's such a small minded mentality, it just doesn't work with top flight footballers.

The Palace only pubs are normally labelled as such. It all depends on what station you arrive at? There's three that you could get off at: Thornton Heath, Selhurst & Norwood Junction.

Thornton Heath has two or three pubs, all fairly grotty - The Prince George is probably the best of a bad bunch that allows away fans. Selhurst has no pubs left. Norwood Junction has the most; the Cherry Tree directly outside the station is a Palace pub. I think the Wetherspoons on Norwood High St is OK for all fans. The closest pub to the ground, The Clifton Arms, is Palace only.

    Slim pickings unfortunately.

4-5-1 or whatever Pardew wants to call it doesn't work so he needs to **** off with that for starters.

    We should be playing 4-3-3..simple

    Team News

Elliot; Janmaat, Coloccini (c), S.Taylor, Dummett; Abeid, Colback; Obertan, Armstrong, Ameobi; Riviere

Subs: Alnwick, Haidara, Anita, Sissoko, Cabella, Ferreyra, Perez

Looks to be 4-2-3-1. I'd rather have seen Anita than Abeid start this one, but we very may well get our first sighting of Chucky since he joined on loan <ok>

Palace XI: Hennessey, Mariappa, McCarthy, Hangeland, Fryers, Zaha, Guedioura, Williams, Bannan, Doyle, Gayle.

Subs: Price, Ward, Ramage, Kelly, Kaikai, Gray, Johnson

Possibly a 4-4-2, maybe a 4-3-3. DOn't know enough about Palarse to make an informed decision

I guess Pardew is hoping Riviere manages a goal and feels a little less pressured as a result. Shame as I'd have liked to see Perez start. It will be interesting to see whether Ferreyra gets any minutes.

Any side that includes Obertan is playing with 10 men.

4 homegrown players in that lineup. Not the strongest side, but good to see Armstrong get his first start for us. Would have liked to see Satka getting some action. Think we may well go out mind.
