Some great players have worn our number 9 shirt over the years. Some really great players. But ever since Torres lost his form it has not been the same. Carroll, Aspas, Lambert. I hope Lambert improves and grabs some goals. But currently the number 9 shirt is not looking so great. Maybe we should avoid it from now on.
Hate to say I told you, to use another lyric, but I called it on Lambert from day one. Knew it'd all be too much for him. He's average at best, just looked alright in that Saints team where everyone gelled quite well and there was not much pressure. He'll last this season, Rodgers will give him that cause he is a trier and a Liverpool lad.
In fairness, I think he was brought in as a squad player, so in that regard it was good business, time will tell...

Hardly surprised by Lambert - I thought it was a strange signing at the time, even as a 3rd/4th choice striker. He should never be starting a game for LFC but I think he can be a useful impact sub. And giving him the captains armband as well - I know it's a pretty low key match but it shows that Rodgers loves his sentiment etc etc.
Nothing gets past you... Lambert was very useful against Saints and City. But he's not going to lead our line the way we want.
