My overriding memory of ceefax is always loading the page AFTER the one you wanted and having to wait whilst it scrolled through umpteen pages of crap! I do miss it.
the worst was when it loaded divison two and division three.. so when city were bottom div, took about half enough to see the city table or city scores
Before smartphones, social media, forums and SSN ceefax and teletext where best way to information. Although Sky Sports use to have a Sports News hour at 6pm.
