NEW RICH 8-1 Kempton 9:20 won this race last year off a pound higher mark. Also won subsequently off 59 and 61 and has slowly worked his way back down to a mark that he really ought to be competitive off. Blinkers are on for the first time which could also perk him up a bit. Must have a fine chance!
Goodwood 525 Lady phill went like a rocket 30 odd days ago at lingfield over 6f tomorrow sees lady drop back to 5f with an intresting claimer booking of louis stewart more intresting though is the odds on offer of 9s
Two winners up in the last couple days so in an attempt to hit the hat trick. Goodwood 4.25 Rainbow Rock 5-2 Many will remember this horses second at the track at the Glorious meeting, what needs noting is that the horse is a lot higher in the weights now, this said I do not see this as the most competitive race and I am hoping the horse will prove too good. Kempton 8.20 Art Scholar 9-1 This horse is very capable of winning from this mark, tomorrow it runs from 73 but has won from as high as 93. The horse has no regular rider but Tom Queally has won on it before and I am hopeful he can make it another tomorrow, the price of 9-1 is definitely worth a small play.
Sorry to anyone who got involved with Quality Song. In hindsight it was a difficult race to start out in and the colt was a little overwhelmed by the occasion, he was not able to show his true colours but Roger was happy enough with what he saw and is no doubt he will leave that run well behind. Hopefully redemption tomorrow as we are very confident of at least one winner and possibly two. American Artist is expected to get off the mark at Goodwood, he was green at Haydock first time out but Roger seems convinced that the colt has really stepped up another level in his work, the penny has dropped with him and races like the Horris Hill at Newbury have been mentioned although that will depend on how he comes through tomorrow. He has always been quite high up the two year old pecking order and he is certainly our main hope for tomorrow. Andretti makes his nursery debut at Kempton later in the evening, the colt has not been with us long having previously been stabled with Sir Michael Stoute but its obviously a family that Roger knows well as Andretti is a half brother to our very tough filly Anipa who won the Cheshire Oaks this year. We are still learning about him but the general consensus is that he will get better with time and that he has possibly been let in lightly here so we expect a good show from him.
Welcome back BL. No need to apoligise; it's not the first tip to go tits up and won't be the last. If they all won we'd all be millionaires. Good of you to share the info.
Hi BL,whats done is done.Todays a new day so following you on your two picks.Im also going for two I fancy.......2-50 Redcar...Call me Crockett, took 9/1 now into 7/1 and Valentino Oyster 4-35 Redcar. Anyone got some info for me on Ya Hade Ye Delil please, worth an e/w at 7/1 2-40 Goodwood? Thanks.
Can anyone make anything of the riding arrangements in the first at Goodwood? Quick Defence had a nice introduction (slowly away) under R Moore but now James Doyle takes the ride. The odds on winner of that race, Dance Track (in the same ownership, Mr K Abdullah, as Quick Defence) was ridden by James Doyle. R Moore takes over the ride from Jim Crowley on Consortium for D M Simcock. Jim Crowley now rides Gentle Persuasion. Confuses me enough to leave the race alone. However, looking into Dance Track I see he had a gentle introduction (slow into stride towards rear) under Robert Tart whilst yet another Mr K Abdullah owned, Recently Acquired (C Catlin) trained by Lady Cecil, dwelt and was one length behind Dance Track in 6th place. I'm thinking, if Quick Defence wins today then Recently Acquired, who jumped a path on next outing, could be worth an interest next time out.
Cheeers BL .. Nice little pick up for me . .on @ 6/4 .. nice drift to 15/8 .. thanks for the heads up - much appreciated ..
AP moves to 136 for the season with victory on Gordon Elliot's Moss Street at a nice looking 2/1. The champ has 2 more rides for Elliot 'oooooooooooooop' at Perth today.
