Should have included Tettey, Redmond and Jerome IMO. All players who would have made a big enough impact in the position were in.
Isn't this the B squad who many posters have said would be as good as most sides in the Championship ? Not on this showing I'm afraid.
Seems an odd selection. He said he'd keep faith with the youngsters, but McFadden, both Murphy's and Loza all dropped out of the starting side, with Miquel and Rudd the only real youngsters involved. Rather than give the youngsters a chance he's played several players lacking match fitness, with nobody really available from the bench to change things up. By the sounds of it, we're playing more 4-4-2 with Odjidja as a winger rather than 4-5-1/4-3-3 with Lafferty wider and Odjidja more central? Not convinced 4-4-2 is the best way to match up to a competitive 5-man midfield.
That starting XI is basically a bunch or players playing they're first game together, which it is... Should have had more settled players part of the side. Very disappointed really as it was a good opportunity to get to the next round. Adams has thrown it away.
Loza goal ruled out for offside, King on for Lafferty. If we're going through the kids are going to be the reason.
Hmm, it's all very well saying that the cup doesn't count, but invariably when you lose a cup tie you go on to lose your next game
Really pissed off with that, there's losing and there's losing, we were ****e and thoroughly deserved that result, not happy. Mr Adams you have questions to answer we should not be putting in performances like that against (with all due respect) against 4th Division opposition
I think we need to give some credit to Shrewsbury, they were clearly up for it and executed a decent game plan. But I think our selection and tactics were naive, even if that side should be more than capable of beating a League 2 outfit. Players and Adams share responsibility for me.
