I apologise for not being on here last night, it was wum's galore, anyway, onto my point, although i'm very disappointed with yesterday's result, i'd rather we lost 5-3 than 1-0 like we did most of the time last season, you look at our attack, we have the 3 best strikers in the premier league, possibly europe, we'll outscore most teams this season, its gonna be like watching the old United.
Who are these "best 3 strikers" in the league then? RVP you could make a case for, even though he is injury prone, his goal per games ratio is great, but now he is also the wrong side of 30. And when you are over 30, injuries become more and more troublesome. Rooney, I wouldn't say so, never really plays as a number 9, though did well when he did. Still think there are 3-4 strikers in the league better than him though. Falcao, not really had a chance yet, but has done nothing in a United shirt or in our league, and players who were awesome in other leagues quite often fail to adapt (see the myriad of strikers signed in recent years who were awesome abroad but failed absolutely in the PL, Kezman, Forlan, Shevchenko etc), not to say he wont adapt as he looked awesome for Atletico, but you can't crown him as the best in the PL on the basis of one PL game (in which he didn't score or create). Also, like RVP, has been very injury prone of late and been injured for quite a long time in recent months.
RVP is finished, Rooney is fat and **** now and Falcao looks so slow, think it's that knee after the injury, just doesn't look up to the PL pace. Would actually rather have Hernandez than any of them 3 tbh
As someone else pointed out that is debatable. Liverpool might argue the case for Balotelli, Sturridge and Sterling. Barca, for Messi, Neymar and Suarez, and Chelsea for Costa, Costa and Costa!!!
...which is a shame though, as on paper, I've got Chelsea to win their next 33 premiership games! Seriously though, no point in each team shouting out their 3 strikers.....especially as some only play 1 up front. No point in having great strikers if your midfield cant win the ball and find one of them. Would RVP + Falcao be better than Costa....well 2v1=probably yes. Would I prefer RVP + Falcao or Costa + Fabregas.....let's just say I'm happy with what I have.
We are only playing 1 forward each week though, LVG the genius is playing at least 3 so obviously you need more!!
