This you mean...what a way to go http://www.sunderlandecho.com/news/...pped-arm-off-owner-in-savage-attack-1-6853787 A DOG owner screamed for help as two of his American Bulldogs mauled him so badly his arm was ripped off, witnesses claim. Brave bystanders tried to make the dogs stop by attacking them with golf clubs and garden tools before the pets eventually ran off into the night. The incident happened at Priors Grange in High Pittington at about 9pm last night People living in the village were terrified until one dog was shot dead by police and the other was caught. The search operation involved the force helicopter and armed officers. An ambulance crew took the 47-year-old owner to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle, where he was receiving treatment for his serious but non-life threatening injuries. Police would not confirm the nature of the man’s injuries. A witness said: “There was a man on the floor getting mauled by two big dogs. I’ve never seen something so vicious and brutal in my life. “I saw blood and his arm was literally torn off, his clothes were torn or pulled off and he was just squirming about screaming for help and eventually it looked as if he just gave up. “People were behind the dogs in a car beeping the horn constantly to try and scare the dogs away, while some other people were also hitting the dogs with garden tools and golf clubs, but no matter what the dogs would not stop. “Eventually the dogs stopped and ran away, and while they were running one of them was hit by a car, several times I think, but it still continued to run away. “Both dogs ended up missing and then that is when an ambulance and a police car arrived at the scene. Not too long after more police cars arrived and also a helicopter.” The injured man has been regularly seen in the area walking up to seven bulldogs. Durham Police said one bulldog was “humanely destroyed” in the Coronation Terrace area “a short time after”. The dog that was caught will be kept in kennels while a decision is made about its future. Durham City Neighbourhood Inspector Dave Coxon said: “I can confirm that both dogs were quickly captured by police and it was necessary for reasons of public safety to humanely destroy one of the dogs. “I understand this must have been a shocking incident for those witnessing it and I would like to thank those members of the public for their efforts in trying to assist the man. “My officers will be out in the Priors Grange area of Pittington throughout the course of the day to offer reassurance and support.”
Not an animal lover and ill probably get shot down for this but any animal capable of doing that shouldnt be kept as domestic pets. Imagine if a young mother was pushing her baby along the same path in a buggie and they turned their attention.
Must dogs I've seen cower at fireworks. Fireworks may have set them off, but the dogs temperament has to be called into question here, a lot of people get these 'fighting' dogs and bring them up to be aggressive. My ex had a Pitbull, wouldn't hurt a fly, unless she was threatened of course, loyal and protective he was, called Nosher. People bringing these dogs up to be aggressive. I don't believe a good dog owners ever get attacked by their own animals.
I used to take a rottwieller out for a walk years ago, they are great with kids etc, but I saw the other side of him one night he dragged me along the road like a doll trying to get at an alsation he was frigging mental, teeth showing etc, would never had any trouble with them bulldogs either !, it is surprising how dogs can change in a second.
Them bulldogs? Bulldogs or American bulldogs? The two are quite different. Love rotties myself. Canny scrap that would have been with a German shepherd. My money would be on the rottweiler.
There's nothing wrong with big dogs per se. Its the owners in most cases. Daschunds have been found to be the most vicious breed (probably due to being breed to get rid of badgers) and look how cute they are. Compare that to say a staffy, a breed with the nickname of 'nanny dog'.
Correctamundo Bri. Owners either bring them up to be aggressive or don't take responsibility and the dogs have no pack leader. Either scenario can cause trouble. We have had mastiffs, and they like to be dominant, like most big dogs but otherwise they are very laid back and friendly. Just start them off right, and they're your pal and protector for life. We had Two of them weighing in at 75 kg and 55 kg respectively, and you feel pretty sure no-one will try and rob you. Only had one incident when another American pit bull tried it on with our bitch in a park. It was quickly and effectively immobilized. Actually, squirrels often cause havoc. You need a fair bit of strength to rain two beasts in once they've had a sniff of a squirrel.
Them bulldogs were American bulldogs and nowt like what is now the English bulldog. Seen a couple in Boldon while walking my dog, seemed canny dogs but big boisterous and fast. Imagine a boxer on steroids and they look ****ing menacing, more so th a n p bulls. There's another bulldog variant going by the name of Victorian Bulldog which is even bigger and looks like it could take on a bull. All the English bulldogs I've known have been soft as clarts
Britain's noisiest, filthiest and most aggressive animal. With the exception of working dogs - sheepdogs, police, guide dogs, etc. - I think all dogs should be seen as a food crop.
Going to have a guess before I click your NSFW and go for a picture of a "HotDog" or dogs in cages on stalls. Hahaha wrong on both counts. Have you tried it mate? Pretty sure I have, in that Chinese restaurant that used to be down the road from the Old 29, that got closed down when our pets heads were found in the back yard.
