I am as frustrated as the booers the other night that this name change seemingly won't go away, despite the games governing body ruling against it. I would love to concentrate on supporting the team on the pitch and enjoying watch some of the best players ever to pull on a Hull City shirt. The booers and anti-ctwd die lot, in my view, are focusing on the wrong target however. Assem Allam is the one who has resurrected the name change issue, not ctwd. In my view, the booers are just picking on the easy target because, deep down, they are also afraid of the long term future of the club; not because many of them believe that Hull Tigers will actually transform our finances and allow us to set our sights on the top 5, but because they are afraid Allam will throw his dummy out over the issue and leave us with an uncertain future. As to the chant: it is a chant ffs. It isn't 'offensive', it doesn't have any derogatory comments about the owners in it, contains no swear words, nothing. Even Ehab acknowledges this. The 'worst' you could say about it is that it marks and celebrates our history as Hull City, particularly being sung at a time that also marks the founding of the club. Given this, I am surprised that any true Hull City fan should get so wound up by it.
Some of the apparently pro-Allam posters seem to have a very low opinion of him if they think chanting the team name would cause him to ruin the club.
This thread is just going round in circles. CTWD is not an anti-Allam organisation and no joke on a gift bought for a committee member is going to change that, though I realise that some on will persist in claiming it does. Unfortunately, for those people, if it wasn't this, it would be something else, some are hell bent on blaming CTWD for everything and it's just something we're going to have to live with. The FA have rejected a name change and are not going to reverse it, CTWD had hoped(but not expected) that would be the end of it, but unfortunately it continues. The sooner the FA reiterates it's position and puts this completely to bed, the sooner we can go back to just talking about on-field matters and that day can't come soon enough for me.
Exactly! In addition, as some have said already, if anyone is to blame for creating the division of fans its Assem Allam and his potty press conference.
Firstly, have you got any actual proof of that? Secondly, can you be sure it's the CTWD lobby repsonsible, or the ****e "fans" who boo 'em?
then how could any political party ever work? it's a compromise, a cooperation, apparently for the greater good. you don't think that goes on in politics at every level? it's how democracy works.
I've decided that the name change should be tried ... not because I prefer "Hull Tigers", or just "Tigers" but because I want Hull "whatever" to cease being dependent on owners who invariably turn out to be shysters. I'd rather have a self-sufficient "Hull Tigers" getting closer to Man U's £315 million shirt sponsorship deal than be wondering if every new owner of "Hull City" is the next Bartlett, Hinchcliffe or Lloyd. So I am now pro-name change. Therefore, I am anti-CTWD and, if the results of the ballot are to be believed, I will not be alone, hence the boos.
