After the game yesterday they were totally dismissive of Hull City. 'We should be beating the likes of Hull.......' over and over again. We only scored because of 'two worldies' whatever that is supposed to mean. Every caller failed to mention us and were supportive of the home team. No negative callers were allowed on air and no negative texts read out.
One of our lads rang the show and was put through to someone taking the calls. He said Newcastle had no god given right to beat 'teams like Hull' and the last time they managed to beat us at St James Park was over 20 years ago when we were bottom of Division 4. He also reminded them that before the game Newcastle were bottom of the Premier League, without a win, and Hull City were in the top ten.
    All factual.
He wasn't allowed on air and his comments were not read out.
Unlike BBC Radio Humberside who take delight in letting negative callers on and reading out negative texts without question.

That is the problem up there they think they are better than they are. Until the accept they are a team that is a mid to lower in the league, there is always going to be conflict with the club.

Which begs to question, why when they asked him what his reason for calling was didn't he just say "because I was really impressed with the way Newcastle fought back and by the way, I'm a Hull City fan" then start ranting like he was supposed to once he got on air?

What it seems to signify is that the Pardew question is getting pushed into the background. One home draw against "a team like Hull" and all is forgiven, so it appears.
The further significance is that Ashley may be less inclined to poach Steve Bruce - if he ever had any intentions to do so in the first place.

Pardew said something similar himself on MOTD if I remember rightly, Newcastle always have an overinflated sense of who they are probably because it is the biggest town in the UK with one topflight team.

Not according to the 2011 census.

    Newcastle: 268k
Hull: 284k (even with the tight boundary)

I've said it a thousand times. The sense of entitlement at Newcastle is astonishing, their demands out way their own clubs capability thus making them the most delusional breed of football fan on the planet. They smash their own town up when we beat them for Christ sake. How dare we beat Newcastle? How dare you take points off them? How dare Pardew not give them champions league football? ****ing Idiots, apart from two.

    Zzzzzzzzz.

We clearly do not expect Champions League. We don't expect Europe but it's not unfair to expect to beat Hull, Palace, Sunderland etc at home.

All four (including Newcastle) are likely to be in close proximity in the table. It's therefore essential that we take maximum points when at home against these team.

Are you telling me that both Sunderland and Hull aren't expecting three points at home against Burnley, Leicester, QPR etc. It's what all clubs do, they target wins against anyone outside the top 6 at home.

We expect more than 5 wins in 9 months. Results such as Saturday's are the reason we want Pardew gone. You lot sacked Bruce for a lot less.

Other than the smashing up of the City which is highly embarrassing your post is factually incorrect on pretty much every point you've made.

I can't speak for Hull fans but last season we took a ride where we struggled all season long against the teams around us but fared better against some of the top teams. I've learnt that in this league you can't expect a win against anyone. You might, but that's the self entitled arrogance I'm talking about. You'd think your 2014 form would have taught you something but clearly not. You're not winning because you're not good enough, your level is a lower premiership team so you shouldn't expect any right of passage, home or away. You'll scrap and scrape and you'll take points where you can, just like the rest of us. Know your level and show some respect daft lad.

I never expect a win, I hope for one.

    But that's because I'm a miserable bastard.

I never admit to expecting a win, even if I do expect one.
