Yes it has only been 5 games but we didn't look like a team yesterday, more individuals. I can't see many goals in this team and defensively we have been poor with the worst goal difference. Keep saying it, but how we could wait to see if Remy would stay, and then get no replacement for him is beyond me. Looking at teams that should be fighting relegation like Leicester they have shown how to play against Man United. Makes our game against them last week seem even poorer. I said last week,I bet they wouldn't get an easy game against Leicester. I don't know what we do in training each week. Southampton and West Ham next. We could be bottom after them two games. Don't tell me we need time to gel, other teams don't!
There is a number of problems which are simply not solved 1. What is our tactics 2. What is our best team 3. Why do we seem to think so negative away from home 4. Goal scoring 5. Defence has no tactical awareness 6 Where is the pace and creativity I really want to see us having a go , so refreshing watching Leicester today , sadly I am not sure what to expect any week , anymore.
We can't be relegated because of the FFP debt. Premier League or the Conference are the options. Still don't think it's down to Harry, been the same **** with all the managers since TF took over. Harry for all his faults got us straight back up which was no mean achievement. Fish rot from the head
Harry got us up but we had the best squad on paper and got promoted more by luck. Think even he thought it was all up until Zamora scored. The football last season was hard to watch and when Austin got injured it was even worse. Problem is I don't think Harry has it anymore.
I can't remember the last time I was ever encouraged by a performance of ours. Even going back to last year, we were still so negative every week. It can only be the managers tactics. If this continues, Harry's going to take us down, rooted to the bottom. Put Hoddle in charge now!
Just being a realist normally a positive person. Can't see much to be positive about the team so far this year, and can't see it changing in the near future. Maybe you know something I don't?
Actually I disagree with this entirely I do think we looked like a team yesterday...very unlike the last time We twice went a goal down, we lost two players to injury, but still they kept fighting. We got back in ...because they actually played as though they cared and were fighting What worried me much more was that we have gaping holes in our defence, that anyone can now exploit... Some one has to get the defence by the scruff of the neck and sort it out, The team spirit will only last a short term....before that disintegrates. We were a team yesterday.....but a few players were grossly incompetent. .
You might be right but it is a bit early to say we will be relegated after 5 games given we are not even in the bottom three and we have had two tough away fixtures. If I am honest I feel we are more likely to be involved in the relegation battle after yesterday than before it but still far to early given all the new players we have. I heard all the moaning last season yet HR still got us promoted.
Lol, They will have to start selling a QPR branded range of noose in the club shop at this rate! please log in to view this image
No we are forth from bottom with the worst goal difference. I didn't say we would be relegated, I said we will if we don't change. That means taking games to the big teams like Leicester did today, and not sitting back. Give Yun and the Chief a chance. My main moaning is we didn't replace Remy and let him mug us off near the end of the transfer window. HR got us promoted but just about, certainly wasn't done in any style.
Maybe I should have said we don't look like a complete team, with everybody knowing their roles. I am not blaming the players or their commitment more the tactics and training. Leicester, Southampton for example look like solid teams.
We need to get back to basics when defending - too many simple errors. Isla was a great example of this yesterday - dwelt on the ball too often and got dispossessed. And Ferdinand and Traore seemed confused as to who was supposed to be doing what, with the result that they got in each other's way At the other end there is no point, if playing as lone striker, in flicking the ball on (to no-one) every time it is lumped up to you. Austin just doesn't work in the single striker role The lack of goals is a major concern, and particularly the fact that we can't seem to score from open play. Midfield will really need to start scoring! But too often yesterday we struggled to find the right pass when in possession, and all too often ended up simply passing it to the nearest red and white shirt. There seemed to be a lack of both movement from those players without the ball, and vision from those with it I do think that Vargas could start to score a few though - he looked lively and got into some good positions yesterday My view is that it is going to be a very big ask to stay up this year, but it is certainly not impossible! COYRs!!
I don't. With CCJ on this one. Really early days. This time last year Arsenal were top. They didn't win the league. Sunderland were bottom. They didn't go down. We've had two shockingly bad away days. Two good outings and one iffy performance - against a team that beat City away - at home. Not End Of Days stuff for me.
Yea I said the same last year from January on but we got worse. Finished 4th and fortunately had the play off final to fall back on. Last time we got promoted finished 17th first season and bottom the season after. Why for once can't we do what teams like Southampton and Hull have done and build a team quickly that can compete.
Lol, I'm personally not the nay saying type or try my best not to be. I posted ages back on a thread before we won our playoff final that I was not really looking forward to a return to the prem as things stood. The main difference between us and say Leicester is we had an aging squad with too many loans. They had a settled squad and added just a few. The prem is just not the place to put together a team and have the time to gel in my opinion, the league is just too unforgiving and will take no prisoners. I hope not but I already made my mind up that we will most likely go straight back down which is not ideal with this FFP crap hanging (no pun intended) over our heads. Again I really hope I'm wrong and i will not pretend to be the expert on this matter as I'm not and as lots are saying it's still early days as yet. Whatever happens I will always love the R's so I will pass on a noose.
Some good points, but what I don't understand is both Hull and Southampton for example have brought players in once promoted and they seem to be able to get stability in this league. We been here last time so have we learnt anything from that? I hope I am wrong too, but with our defensive problems, lack of strikers, and our tactics away from home, I do not have a good feeling so far.
Well first of all I'd say that neither Hull nor Southampton have built "quickly". They're coming from a far more stable background than we are. Unless you've got unlimited resources like, say, dirty aluminium money or black gold behind you it's always gonna be a slow process. It has to be. We're playing twenty years of catch up here. I'd also say we haven't a chairman that understands this. He's an inveterate gambler fuelled by hubris. It wasn't enough for Risdale and it won't be enough for us. I'm not sure we get it either. Three years ago on here my posts were about sustainability and managing expectation. Teflon Tone's blown the first out of the water. The second? That we can control. 17th is fine.
