I know I may get a bit of stick for this but it will only be off the supporters who are miserable I know James Harper isn't the best footballer in the championship but still lets get behind him because he wears our shirt and plays for our team Just think how he must feel getting booed by away fans nevermind fans of hull city Getting on his back every game is going to get him more adjetated and more upset which will make him rush and make a bigger mess of things I have said this loads of times but people laugh it off, James Harper gets played in a position he is not used to (some people say yeah he is on the pitch) if you see when he played for Reading then he was a box to box midfielder scoring goals and setting up goals, he isn't very good as a defensive midfielder he is more of an attacking midfielder, so getting played in the wrong position isn't ideal in football I don't care about the stick I get because I know that the true supporters will get behind him however bad he is playing UTT
I agree with you. I believe that booing your own players will only either (1) make them try too hard to get the crowd on their side (as you say); or (2) think why should he bother putting a shift in if his own supporters are booing him. Unfortunately this appears to have gone on for years, I remember Andy Saville getting booed when his name was read out on the tannoy before kick off
I agree and disagree there I think he has more bad games then when he has good But even when he has a good game and does 1 bad pass in an overall good game he still gets booed? Nobody booed Gerrard last season or Koren when they did a bad pass? UTT
Dele hasn't even kicked a ball for Hull yet Most Forest fans are sad to see him go, thinking he was good Anyway I say people are not true supporters if they don't get behind everyone No point in supporting 10 players and not the other one
Harper's return last season coincided with our upturn in form. Even then, people were on his back. It was really no surprise that his game went to pieces. He's not a world beater, he's a steady player, his positioning is great, he organises well and he's always available for a pass. His passing is hit and miss these days which is a shame because a few years ago, he was a terrific ball player. I'd like to see people get behind him and see if he comes good. If he doesn't, then you can all say "I told you so" but the people who jumped on his back when he hadn't done anymore wrong than anyone else should be ashamed. City fans they ain't.
I agree, whoever pulls on the black and amber shirt should get our full support and I'll never understand why supporters boo their own players. I was a bit iffy about us signing Adebola but as he's our player now he will also get my full support.
I dont believe the people on here are the ones who boo Harper. You have to make your own luck in football. I think Harper sealed his fate with that poor attempt against Scunny. People were genuinely excited to see him as he had a big build up, engine room for Reading yadda yadda. I left thinking christ that Sidwell must have been good. He s not good enough, he isnt going to get better and i would move him on if we could. On one of the other threads posters named their team no one picks him. Evans and Mckenna for most in the middle or Roko.
I wouldn't ever boo one of our own players, it's completely self defeating and is therefore a rather stupid thing to do. But he is ****.
Oxley(new keeper) Rosenior Chester Hobbs Dudgeon Koren McKenna Harper McClean Fryatt Simpson. A city team that wouldn't let us down and featuring no loan players. The new keeper may well be a loan. Who would be captain?
----------Oxley(new keeper) Rosenior Chester Hobbs Dudgeon ----Koren McKenna Evans ----Simpson Fryatt Stewart With Evans and McKenna joining us, I can't see Harper getting into the starting XI, though this won't be the team either, as we'll have further additions.
I could, Np seems to like Harper and doesn't seem like the sort to be swayed by public opinion. He kept the faith with Harper when all others were losing theirs. Perhaps he will rotate the use of Harper and McKenna. As you pointed out this may be subject to who else joins the mighty tigers but it is worth noting the manager has a liking for Harper's ability which is not shared by many on here.
I think it was obvious that we needed an attacking midfielder and a defensive one while playing 4-4-2 last season and Evans and Harper didn't work in those roles. I assume that we've brought in McKenna to play the defensive role, which leaves either Evans or Harper to play the attacking role and I though I agree that Pearson likes Harper, I think he likes Evans more and as a consequence I think Harper will be out of the starting XI.
agreed you should never boo a player, no matter what you think of them..argueing.the case that he is an attacking midfielder doesnt really help his cause tho when the 2 times he actually got in the box he managed to miss from 3 yards
Yes I see that However everyone can have a bad miss or two, I mean look at Darren Bent for England against whoever they played at Wembley the other week he missed from 3 yards I think he is better attacking mid then he is defensive though
Yes, Harper isn't a great player and, although he has been playing slightly out of position, does deserve most of the stick he gets. However booing Harper is wrong, it won't help him whatsoever and it's not what the club is about. We should be getting behind him.
