As with my thread the other day about Sharp and how I thought he should be dropped, I am glad to have been vindicated as the two lads up front we magnificent imo. Both have pace and are comfortable on the ball and running in behind. Sharp who was apparently a Hock signing will struggle to get back in as he lacks pace movement and the ability to run with the ball. Oh and where are the people who laughed when I predicted Doukara would notch 15 goals this season...........4 and counting! Today they were all very good but my MOTM was BIANCHI, does he give the ball away? Cook is getting a great education playing with ball players in this team. MOT
Still think Sharp will have a big role to play this year, even if it's predominantly off the bench. There will be times we're chasing a game and he's a proven penalty box poacher and I'd wager a better natural finisher than either Doukara or Antenucci. That said, I'm really liking the look of the partnership - pace, power, willingness to run the channels and in behind, both hold the ball up well too. Cook was superb again today, so composed on the ball. Even Austin's distribution was good!
Agree I do think Sharp will have a role to play off the bench, his is our worst technical player up front. But as you say he is a poacher who can come off the bench and maybe snatch us a goal in the box. Cook for 17yo looks superb and we need to tie him to a long term deal ASAP. Austin did have a good game, seems playing with better players brings out the best in him.
Hock recommended Ajose & Sharp Billy. Cellino said no about Sharp to start with, then signed him due to us being unable to sign anyone in January due to this transfer embargo we will have.
Agree with Kiwi. Sharp will have a role to play, & in Antenucci & Doukara he has competition for places. We also wait to see what impact Montenegro & the young Irish lad might have. All i all, we're looking good
Oh my, what a day to be alive! Last May did you imagine having such a problem. I am enjoying the moment but feel very sorry for those pesky wallies. All their rhetoric, prophesies and hopes dead before October.
Heard he's tied down until 2016, the club just didn't make a big deal out it. I'd definitely consider offering him a new deal though
Well I have just one gripe to make Berradi was getting taken apart from Bunn who I thought showed some real class and before he got sent off I said to Stevie Wonder why on earth doesn't Redfearn take him off before he gets sent off I think that's where he showed his inexperience to me. However I loved the way the team performed with zest and commitment and the 2 front runners worked tirelessly but my MOM was Austin he was awesome Finallly how long will it take to make Bellusci the captain the way everything worked through him and his organisation of both defence and occasionally attack were top drawer all in all a very good team performance I want this every week!
Sorry but I thought Morrison played his part too! I would get rid off Hunt White Norris this will save us at least£ 1.5m per year
Berardi should've come off long before he was sent off but his tackle for the second yellow was wild and reckless. He knew he was on a yellow, there was no way he was going to make the challenge and it took the shine off an otherwise virtually flawless display from the team. Byram looked a threat when he came on though, so that's the positive there.
Do you honestly think Cellinos not trying to get rid of them. Of course he is 60 but the obvious problem is no sane club will want them. Let's face it, were stuck with them till end of their contracts
