On the evidence so far I see Isla as a major weakness in a back four. He just doesn't appear to have a defender's instincts. What are our options? Is it only Onuoha?
He seems to not have the muscle - gets pushed off the ball - does not stay close to the opposition player
Onouha seems to be disliked by Harry for god knows what reason Suk young seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth for whatever reason Simpson was a very solid back-up/squad player and was sold for whatever reason Gotta love 'Arry
I think Isla will be good but will need around several months coming from a slower league. I don't think he should be guaranteed a start for every game at present but I do believe he has some class.
He's a great crosser and should be kept wide for that and his pace (which will draw defenders out and create more space in the centre).
Well, you know... the smart thing to do at the beginning of the season is to bring in a RB who hasn't played in England and sell your only other RB, one who has been solid for us since joining. What kind of stupid **** made that decision?
He's a wingback. He is used to having the right sided centre half in a 3 at the back to cover him or give him a short get out ball. Neither he nor Traore are full backs.
I'm inclined to agree with you. Several times today he got caught out but had no one covering him which makes him look really bad but at least half the blame should be on the others who didn't cover him well enough or support him and give him an option.
He may have given the ball away for the second goal but Crouch should have never been allowed to score. Dreadful marking from Ferdinand.
This, Isla can improve with time coming from Italy and all. Ferdinand, if he was a horse he'd be cat food by now.
