we are moving into the 22nd century with this stuff, its like back to the future. too much technology for me to handle
My bank issues me with special bits of paper which I can use to exchange for goods. Brilliantly simple
It's a good initiative. Some luddites will find it boring. Perhaps they like queuing. I don't. It's a future. Not necessarily everybody's future. You can take it or leave it. But now you have choice where you had none before. That's a good thing.
A luddite tries to stop progress by vandalism...I don't intend to stop anyone using these bands...I just don't intend to join in. Whilst you are all in the special queue, the ones with money will be in shorter queues as well.
That's the classic meaning. Nowadays it's anyone who can't see any benefit in change whether it affects them or not, and has a negative whinge about it.
Seen these gimmicks at a few festivals, works well and certainly speeds things up at the bar. Good idea, would be great if they sent them to all season ticket holders as that's really who this suits best.
This looks to be the same as the small contactless payment sticker card that Barclaycard sent to attach on my mobile, but in a wristband form. It was also for £20 max. Reasonably useful I guess, but couldn't you just use your Barclaycard itself to make the contactless payment?
Last winter, after a walk with my local Southampton Ramblers, we went off to the pub and, as usual, I had no cash [I just don't carry the folding anymore - what's the point..?] so instead of inserting the card into the machine, I waved it at it, and it worked a treat. Not all tills let you do it, but I've done it several times since. I stop short at allowing my phone to do the same though. And remarkably, I've not had my financial life hacked to death either. Of course, I'm sure it's just a matter of time.
I haven't actually stuck the little card on my phone, I leave it in the car for McDonald's drive thru when I forget the real card
