Just seen on bbc football that Charlton have signed Dale Stephens. I didnt think he done much for us last season to want us to buy him. What are your thoughts?
I thought he was promising but needed work. Wouldn't have minded him signing but not bothered that he didn't. It was NA's call.
League one player. He was only brought in to fill the gap due to Spidermans' injury and Gobern's suspension. No loss.
I know some people thought he did well, but I never rated him. He wouldn't get in the team ahead of Schneiderlin or Chaplow, and I thought he was really no better than Hammond. If we want a player like him there are plenty about (some of whom are out of contract). Look like we don't though.
Saw him couple of times last season and looked the worse Saints player on the pitch both times. Happy we didn't sign him he won't have cut it in the championship.
