I never saw him put it like that in the interview I saw. He just seemed resigned to the fact he was going to be getting some stick on Saturday, and asked that it comes and goes quickly so we can get on with winning a game of football. I have to agree with him. He did however look a broken man with the weight of the world on his shoulders. I reckon he'll walk or be sacked if we lose on Saturday.

Im sure he may be too scared to even leave the dugout, jeered every time he does.

At the end of the day he should have gone by now, he should feel that he cannot do the job its not working, the only thing keeping it from happening is money... The lack of a pay off and fat mike dont want to pay him off.

We could lose 5-0 tomorrow and i think he would stay for now.

The fact that MA seems to be watching more closely and had a meeting with Pardew about the poor performances does suggest the clock is finally ticking down.

That is exactly what he wants mate. He could always resign if it gets too much for him.

from Wikipedia... Mass hysteria: in sociology and psychology refers to collective delusions of threats to society that spread rapidly through rumors and fear.

Had we not had "sack Pardew" threads for like the last 3 years, then maybe he'd have a point.

The protests are not what will influence Ashley. As always it is only his opinon that matters. I think his opinion is he has had about enough of Pardew.

In Mike's eyes (which is very questionable) he has supported Pardew fully. He has in the sense of giving him time and not being swayed by rising sea of support wanting him out over the last 18months. However I would argue his transfer policy is ****, and he doesn't really spend enough money so doesn't support him (or any other manager) in other ways.

The 2nd bit is not really important though. If he thinks he has supported him and then Pards has failed him, I think he will just get rid. I think we have now reached that point.

If he was just **** tactically I'd feel sympathy, but him and Carver are ****s who just deserve it. Picking fights with fans, headbutting people, talking **** about fans and almost always blaming everyone but themselves.

If he was at any other club under any other owner he'd have been sacked ages ago.

I feel I must say this to balance things:

    1. Most of the things I've seen as criticisms (football related), are said about every manager who's under pressure. "No plan B" etc etc... What, you want a clear change in formation so everyone can notice a plan B? What if plan B sucks? Will he get criticised for not having a plan C, or for not sticking with plan A? Why are people so hung up on plans, and not the fact our useless players can't beat a man and shoot on target.... Granted, he should have been sacked for non-football related reasons, unprofessional conduct etc etc, but I was in the clear minority when I was up in arms after the Hull incident, so we can't really turn on it now?
    2. The players are awful. Genuinely awful. How often do you see awful players perform poorly under one manager, and then amazingly under the next? Very rarely. The new manager effect tends to wear off pretty quickly. Class is permanent, form is temporary, and we have very little class in our squad.
    3. There's obviously the question of who or what comes in afterwards. Ashley is not a "world-class" coach kind of employer.
    4. Is there actually such a thing as "going forward" under the current regime? Or are we just sacking the captain of the sinking ship, and replacing him with another captain while the water's rising?

I realise these are questions that we've asked ourselves a lot, but I for one haven't heard a satisfactory answer to any of them, and until we do, I can't advocate his sacking.

Don't agree on a number of points.

Firstly, we should be able to alter tactics during a game. We should expect the players to have been coached to understand and be able to do that when Manager says so. Not necessarily a Plan B but to alter something if Plan A is clearly not working. On that score Pards fails abysmally.

Secondly, it is reasonable to expect a manager to consistently time a substitution and bring on a player designed to have a positive affect on a game at least consistently as can't expect that all the time. Pards fails on that one too.

Thirdly, we do have some very good players in the squad such as Krul, Janmaat, Tiote, De Jong to mention some. Not world class but they coached properly playing to a sensible plan should do sufficient to keep NUFC in top half. I would also include Ben Arfa if he was man managed better which again Pards fails on. I don't wish to digress on that point as I do readily agree Ben Arfa is also too blame but I would still say he has been badly man managed.

Fourthly, the fact that Pards keeps being a mouth piece for the regime grates with me. Happy with squad several days after saying we needed a striker and defender?! He either wanted the extra players or he didn't. Any self respecting manager would not simply toe the party line and would stand up for himself. There are numerous examples of other managers resigning because they were in conflict with the owner with Solksjaer being just the latest.

For me I have tried in the past to give him credit for managing under difficult circumstances where the owner does not adequately support the development of the team but the last 8 months since Cabaye left have just been too far for me and Pards needs to go. Football at this level is a results driven business.

I'm not overly concerned about the who may be next and will he be any different given Cashley remaining in control. If something is broken you do something too fix it you don't leave it be in case fixing it might cause more damage. Better to be damned by doing something wrong than not doing anything at all.

Rob Lee is absolutely bang on. What the club needs is someone who'll tell Ashley what's needed, end of. Ashley will never employ this kind of person, thus we remain in limbo. Or purgatory.

Ashley is a playing a big game here, he knows that Alan has lost it (dressing room/plot/you name it), but he also knows the pressure is mounting so much so, that he will probably resign......or make himself rather ill. He does look a broken man, & I can only imagine at how he feels right now, I feel a little sorry for him......but he can end this himself.....he should walk away.......but he won't will he. Tomorrow is going to be a cringe fest, just hope he doesn't die on the touch line.
