Not sure how this really works but if he decided to merge the club would he be allowed to change the name as i noticed a few over the years have done that ,i obviously don't want that but just trying to work out what possible paths he might decide to go down.
it was just a thought and it has happened before stoke city done it and others have to ,so not pointless at all.
Stoke merged with a cricket club in 1878 ffs, it's an utterly ridiculous suggestion, they're not going to merge with Rovers of FC and there's no-one else.
Allam should **** off and buy Doncaster - he could change the name to Doncaster Donkeys and tap into that great middle eastern market - he could change his name to Dr Ass and Ehab to Eeyore - the possibilities are endless
Is there anything legally to stop him or would he have a genuine case then based on past clubs doing it thats what i am trying to find out that's all.
I'm sure we all remember that successful merger between Reading and Oxford - whatever happened to the Thames Valley Royals?
How about merging with Middlesbrough? Both sets of fans could rejoice under the name of Smoggy Tigers.
All football fans should petition the FA to make it law that a teams name is sacred! And any new owner who wishes to buy a club and passes the fit and proper test must abyed by this! Then this **** will stop! They know the rules before they buy!
Do you know how many refusals from the Fit and Proper test have stood? And then think about all the mental, ****bag owners in football at the minute. It's absolutely ****ing pointless.
