No not the independence vote, much more importantly there has been a vote at the St Andrews Golf Course to decide if they will lift their ban on lady members http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/m...historic-vote-women-members-article-1.1942605
Reminds me of the old, and not very good, joke.... 'I say Giles, that chap on the 14th green's got tits!' Sorry....
Having played there and been in the club, I cannot imagine why a women would want to be a member there, I certainly wouldn't.
According to CNN 75% of their world wide membership voted, and of those 85% said yes to allowing females to join.
Is 85% of 75% of their world wide membership more than 50% of the total population of the planet? It's that important, this is.
Anyone who has been stuck behind a female 4 ball , with more in front because they 're on a golf break and therefore there's no point in them letting you play through will know how poor this decision is. Diabolical.
I concur, I once against my better judgement agreed to play in a greensome with a very nice women. However on the first having taken her drive I but the second shot on the green, only to have to play the fourth shot out of the bunker. I say no more.
I'm just sat here shaking my head. In disgust. They should have their own 5 hole , par 3 courses. That way everybody would be happy.
I was in a foursome recently indulging in a bit of stroke play when we tried to wave an all female four ball through. They walked straight past us with their danders up. Queening it they were. I've never been so embarrassed.
I'm frowning. I'm confused. I'm almost angry. Perplexed, that's what I am. I'm perplexed. WAVE A ****ING FEMALE 4 BALL THROUGH? Oh dear god, do you even exist? Ern, we're done mate.
My girl went to the University of Saint Andrews for a year in between her 2 Bachelor degrees and her law degree from Columbia Law School. She never even went and looked at the golf course.
To be fair Carmine, we were otherwise engaged. I didn't want to block anyone's passage. It was a links course. Perhaps I should have gone to the nearest cliff and tossed myself off.
