1. 3 points (Man of the Match) -Cody Mac.....Got to be 2. 2 points (2nd best performing player) - Hess Jnr 3. 1 point (3rd best performing player) – Dack
This is very difficult, because many of the players could be individually chosen to be in the top three last night in an all round team performance... So i look at Peterborough's early running, and the threat that the number 7 Taylor brought at our team, so my top two will be defenders... 1. Egan 2. Hause Third choice i need to make a decision, based on my earlier choices that those two men kept us in the game, I have decided to give it to the man that won us the game with his two goals.... 3. Cody
Similar to brb in that it sounds to me like the defence won it for us. But for 3rd although Cody got the (much needed) goals, I'm putting Lofty in there. Comeback game and although he tired (understandably) he ran it for us in there. 1/ Egan 2/ Hause 3/ Loft I think there will be a lot of players polling this week. Dack, Martin, McGlashen, Morris have all been mentioned as having good games. Long may it continue.
1. Egan. (Will be playing Championship football soon...very very good) 2. Loft (May well be the engine and link up player we've been searching for for a few seasons now) 3. Hause (Along with Egan, very solid and with his pace will continue to get others out of trouble)
This is a hard one to choose between yet again as this was a decent team performance however I feel around 4 or 5 stood out but that is why it is hard to choose a top 3 as I would say this is probably the closest top 5 this season. 1. John Egan- Yet again he has put in another great shift. He is fastly becoming my favourite player at the club. He is just such a good defender and he doesn't seem to put a foot wrong. A lot of people pick up on the bad defenders quickly so I hope many pick up that he is a great defender. The only thing I worry is that he is already looking great at this level and this will not go unnoticed so I hope we can continue to build around him and not let him go as I could see him progressing back to the top level. Anyway great performance again holding the defence together and making sure that we kept Peterborough at bay so he is my man of the match. 2. Doug Loft- It was great to see him back in the team as he will help us even more when it comes to defending as he gets all around the field and is a great player to have at the club. I really like the way that he works and how he puts a great shift in. I really think this team is defensively stable and will not concede as many as last season, although we let in a lot at the start of the season if you look at the last 4 games we have now only conceded 2 whereas in the first 4 games we conceded 10 goals. This shows that it was down to the team gelling and getting to know each other and how each other plays as I now feel that the defence is stable but also the midfield is much more stable and this is helping the defence as it is good for Hause and Egan to know that they have a good midfield in front of them which will help them. I really think this team is well balanced and with Loft back I think we will get better results as he is a key player this season for us. 3. Cody McDonald- I had to give him a place in the top 3 as he won us the game with his goals. It wasn't his best game by any stretch of the imagination however he done his job and scored two goals. I really hope that we bring a target man in this week in time for the Walsall game as with Kedwell out we need someone else in as I wasn't really impressed with the strength of Norris. I think Norris will be a good player in time but he is not ready to take on Kedwell's role full time while he is injured. I think we need someone in on loan who can link up well with Cody and also who has the strength and pace to chase down keepers so we are looking for someone who puts the fear into the opposition hopefully we will be able to find someone who fits that criteria and then I think we will play better as Cody works better when he has a good partner. I think we have seen that from the last few matches where we did not score in the 2 before the Peterborough game that it is vital that he has someone strong up top with him as he just don't seem to work the same without someone else like Kedwell or like he had in Bayo last season. Anyway it was a very good performance and I have to give a mention to Hause who I feel also put in a good shift and has really improved very quickly and become a good player for us. Also Dack and Hessenthaler deserve a mention as they put in good shifts respectively and deserve the mention as on another day I may have chosen them in the top 3 as it was a really close one this week.
top 3 very difficult to chose. back 4 were all good loft and Hess also played well and body getting two goals. 1st Martin. 2nd Egan 3rd Cody
