Agree 100%, followed closely by Jura (any of the variations, they're all good)

Not really my tipple to be honest. Tastes a bit too much like TCP.

Laddie 10 is a nice Islay.

We had the Caol Isla cask strength in too. 56% or something like that.

Good luck to you's lads with the whiskies but I can project vomit about 15 metres after one single unit. F*cking horrible stuff.
By the way I have tried various ones (probably bog standard) so it's not a one off. Estimate my whiskey related vomiting must have reached over a 100 metres.

Have been a fan of single malt for many a year but fond of a Canadian Club for a change. I must admit to having gone to google to read up on the Japanese distilling history. I knew they were big fans of the Scottish brew but have yet to see one of there's unless they sup it all rather than export it.

Lovely stuff mate, getting big over here and in America. Worth trying if you can get your hands on it.

quite happy to read Vodka recommendations - albeit most good Vodkas taste pretty much the same - Stolichnaya is what I usually go for

My mate adds cherry menthol tunes to his vodka, then freezes it.
Have to say it is a very nice nip.

Some lovely stuff available from Canada, especially if you like rye whiskey. In the UK, we typically get cheaper, big brand ones like Canadian Club or Crown Royal for mixing with Ginger Ale but do heck out Wiser's and Highwood Distillery - they aren't exactly premium expensive but they are more refined and interesting flavours. Rye provides more natural caramel colouring, and a hint of marzipan nutty sweetness. Not the right choice if you like smoky, phenolic, salty island whiskey but if you prefer Irish-style or Speyside-style, it would make a good alternative.

Sounds like a guy who knows his stuff!

Are rye whiskies sweeter than malt whiskies in general?

Tank, me and you have a similar drinks cabinet by the sounds of it, good taste sir. My standard whisky is Laphroiag quarter cask for the reasons mentioned and because my taste buds are probably shot!

Checked on line and it is available here in single. Reasonable prices, but have a fair bit of duty free to get through. Will look in airport after next trip though.

Definitely like a single malt ot 2 but love Irish ones like Jamieson and Bushmills.
Got a taste through a free sample from work of a single malt called Auchentoshan, ended up wher I used to ride past the distillery evryday on way to work but that was it was working away from home, any free time was spent back in good old County Durham
