This fashion disaster from the early 1990s didn't stop striker Mark Robins celebrating a goal at Highbury. Their kit certainly didn't give fans much to cheer. I loved that kit!
But being 8 (?) points clear of the pack at Xmas and an eventual finish of third - and the foray into Europe that came with it, gave the fans plenty to cheer about. A bit of context, please, Newsbeat!
I honestly think that with hindsight that kit isn't even that bad and I'm sure there have been far, far worse ones in the past 20 odd years since we wore it. Surprised that it still gets a mention, though I suppose it does show that the BBC do remember that we exist at least.
When it was first released, I didn't know whether to or But about 3 months later, I slunk - incognito, into the old club shop beside the ground and invested my hard earned pennies - like many of us did. The Arsenal yellow and black zig zag stripes number was far worse, anyway
I was never a big fan of the bird poo! I do really like the Lugo estrella kits above, they look more like cycling jerseys but they're a bit more interesting than the normal level of artistic license afforded strip designers. That said it is shameless advertising to a new extreme! Bah! p.s. that denim number is pretty horrific though.
