Harry Redknapp came clean about his major error that cost his team any chance of respectability in their match at Old Trafford.

Speaking candidly to this reporter outside QPR's Harlington training camp, Redknapp said,

"I have to put my hands up and admit that I got it wrong. I was sidetracked by the Rainbow Laces initiative. We all think that it is a triffic idea and I wanted to make sure that QPR were at the forefront. In hindsight it was probably not a good idea to play Bungle, Zippy and George from the outset, though to be fair to the lad Geoffrey, he played well when he came on for the last few minutes.

It had all gone very well in the run-up to the game. Training with a big, multi-coloured beach ball was a great idea. Bungle really enjoyed that. After the players had warmed down and had a shower it was into the tactics room for a five minute discussion about how we would set up and then half an hour of singing with Rod, Jane and Freddy. The best song was "The wheels on the bus".

"The wheels on the bus are falling off, falling off, falling off.
The wheels on the bus are falling off all day long."

At this point Harry cut the interview short and jumped into his car. After putting his favourite D:ream cd into the console he sped away to the strains of "Things can only get better".

    More as we get it.

It's a pity he didn't stop and wind down the window for an interview. It might have prompted another Rainbow classic:

And which window will we look through today - the oblong window?! <laugh>

I'm pretty sure Harry's tactics were to soak it up and hit on the break...ala Swansea, unfortunately neither Phillips or Hoillet could retain the ball or beat the defender. Midfield never got a foot on the ball and played out with conviction. In the end and in 20/20 hindsight it would of been better to go there and have a really good go, that's a poor MU defence and we never tested it. Hopefully Stoke will be three points!
