In answer to point 1 why change a winning brand. Hull City is getting known worldwide, and if you don't believe that get over to South Africa where we are. If Allam really wants to develop the club globally he should be negoiating a contract over there with a sports retailer for selling merchandise. Christ they haven't even tried to do anything locally let alone globally. in answer to point 2 players abc have come here because of our performance last year and more importantly Steve Bruce. Allam might provide the finance but if those two points had been differant we would not of got player abc no matter how much money we threw at it. With regards Abramovitch, how can you say he is a good owner. How many managers have Chelsea had in the last few years?
CTWD did NOT stop the name change THE FA DID. !!! I believe they would have said NO without the CTWD group Complain to the FA if you.must complain The Allam speach proved to me he is just been an An idiot with the name change . It WONT bring in more money and it WONT effect success or failure. Drop the pointless name change or go Our new owners MIGHT be our best ever.
A suggestion to CTWD would be to create a user name on here and other forums so that people could ask CTWD their opinion. As it is, some people assume a poster is CTWD and attribute their personal opinion and comments to them.
This is very true, CTWD have conducted themselves well throughout. Unfortunately some of its members/supporters have not. People on here complaining about fans turning on each other in the stadium last night yet it has been acceptable to attack anyone on here for having a different view for the last 6 months.
I have no problem with someone having a different view to me, but I can't respect that view when they flat out refuse to back up that view or offer a reason why they hold that view.
I am dismayed by the stubborn refusal of pro name changers to make the distinction between being anti name change and anti Allam. I am a CTID member, and am comfortable with their aims, and the fact that that have never done anything other than declare support for AA. AA opened this wound last week resulting in our own fans now being set against each other. He caused that to happen. This has the potential now to destroy his legacy, cost us our manager, decimate our fan base and ultimately destroy the club. I hate what this is doing now, and we all know why it's happening; the stubborn refusal of a man to accept being told no. The only solution is a buyer, and the sooner the better so we don't have an unsettled manager, and all fans can get back to supporting the team.
It also works the other way. There are some coherent, well put arguements on here in support of Allam but there are also some right twats who are blinded by premier league football at any cost.
You musn't say 'City' any more, it may upset the man with the money. Boo yourself you ****ing ****s. Seriously, sat there booing other fans for singing the name of the club. Just think, sat there in your seats, booing. PROTECTORS OF THE PROTECTED DEFENDERS OF THE POWERFUL SUPPORTERS OF THE RICH
Personally, I think any booing by home fans at a Hull City game is disappointing and disgusting in equal measure, regardless of the motivation. I've no doubt people are bored of the whole situation, I had no doubt that was the case ahead of last nights game and nobody is more bored of it than CTWD. People would do well to remember that it wasn't CTWD who held a press conference on Thursday and started this nonsense all over again, it's the last thing we wanted. I believe the appeal is completely pointless, I don't believe there's a chance of the FA overturning their decision and to have this sort of nonsense going on until November could be deeply damaging to the club. There should be no negativity in the ground when there's a game on, it's completely self-defeating and benefits no-one. The problem is, that those who want to support Allam, won't sign Hull Tigers songs, because they don't really want that to happen either. Maybe they should just chant his name at 19.04 instead, anything has to be better than booing.
Just a suggestion . . . . but has anyone thought of a compromise re chanting for match day support? It seems that the most of the posts on here were supportive of the chanting, but not necessarily what chanting at 19:04 implies and then the booing at our own supproters was so wrong and (to me) embarassing to a clube that have their own issue with thier manager. They must have laughed at the stupidity they saw last night. Could maybe Hull City & CTWD suggest to all fans that at 19:04 that everyone does something simultaneous and together, like a standing ovation / cheering (I don't know what exactly) but get away from this ridiculous split in the fans. I like chanting CTID, but at 19:04 is implies so much more than the words say. I deplored the booing because that implies poor play on the pitch, which we certainly didn't get last night. The appeal is with the FA - they know the Allam's view and also the view from CTWD. Each side with their own POV. The process will be followed and the decision made. Can we not get behind the team 100% during the match and now leave the protests to outside match time? We've got a week and a half til Man City come - loads of time to market an idea if everyone gets behind it.
I fail to see how celebrating our name at a time equivalent to the year of our formation, with a well known and positive chant/song, can possibly be offensive to anyone at all. Booing it? Get a grip.
But can we say "Tigers" anymore? I agree with CTWD when they say we have sung "City till I die" for years both home and away. However, we have also sung / chanted "The Tigers" for even longer. My question for CTWD would be this; Why do we hardly ever now chant / sing "The Tigers"? Do we think that by doing so we would be seen as backing Mr Allam's plan to change the clubs name? "The Tigers" remains our nickname and it is a crying shame that we no longer vocally back the club with this traditional chant. As for the booing last night it was clearly just at the 19:04 point (there was no booing for example when "she'll be wearing black and amber" was sung, which continues with "I love City till I die") and maybe some fans are fed up with the predictability of it all - but you would have to ask those who booed as to why they did it. Maybe CTWD need a new strategy?
