I was going to say the same, the west stand never give vocal support and the only time we hear them is to boo. Those that support the name change should sing Hull Tigers till I die not effin well boo!
There is no turning point. The boo's will have no effect on the Tribunal, whose only remit is to look at whether the decision was rational, fair and legal. We sing City Till We Die for about a minute. As this seasons games go by the booing and the responses will get longer and longer. The civil war amongst the fans will get worse. If that's what you really want there will be only loser and it will be the team on the pitch.
I have to say I felt rather sick that fellow fans can boo others, but that just goes to show how some people can be so gullible. From what I see the Allam's are looking for an exit strategy, they don't want to put more money in, as they have reached their limit. They now want to find someone that will be blamed, so they are jumping on the split between fans, and CTWD are the ones getting this unjustly. The FA have said no to the name change, so now it is nothing to do with anyone other than the FA now. P.S. These 4 signings on the last day, were funded from selling Long and Boyd, with 2 of them loans.
Think this is a spot on post - except for the "A lot." I think it's a small minority of numbskulls who take it too far. 95% of CTWD members and folk against the name change do it peacefully, and without aggression. Was expecting a "Pipe Bomb" though with the name that you've chosen - ahh well!
I'm going to get slack for this but personally I think you're all taking the piss really. Why is it ok for CTWD to make a vocal statement to show their opinion on a very current event but it is not ok when others want to voice theirs. Call them whores all you want, the point is if you're gonna give it you have to take it also. Blame who the f** you want for all this but it really isn't fun for those stuck in the middle like me.
I wasn't there tonight but if i ever hear someone boo a Hull City song near me they'll be picking their teeth off the floor.
It is not worth the time or effort on here being Pipe Bomb opinionated. Brick Wall/Shovel Burial. I also entirely agree with you say about 'a lot' and your further description.
Yep. This is the saddest part for me. There's no rational reason for the name change. We all accept that. The only argument people have come up with is to not upset a very childish, very egotistical, very selfish, very rich man. It's absurd if you think about it. I hate to see people like this get their own way, he's a spoilt brat, and it absolutely sickens me to see the people of Hull (of all places!) to appease somebody like this. Sickening.
This should of been of our great nights of our in his with debut of four internationals. Turned into the most embarrassing act petulance by certain members of the crowd. Some people seem to be missing the point that all this infighting has been caused ones pure pigheadedness and arrogance.
Thank you. I'm not a fan of heated debates on here, better when we can all have a sensible discussion, no matter the point of view that we have! I'd pick being a Hull City A.F.C fan in League 1 than " Hull Tigers" in the Premier League, but being Hull City A.F.C in the Premier League is simply fantastic and somewhere where we'd never dreamt of being, so it's amazing that it's happened and for that we do have to thank the Allam's to some degree. I just don't like the way he's going about this, and the divide it's bringing to games. His press-conference the other day was a farce, and jeering each other's fans is ludicrous. It's a real shame to see a divide at the KC, but fantastic to see the team play so well, and have fantastic players in it!
Nowhere did I say that was what I wanted and the last thing any of us want is for the team to be affected in a negative manner. Nor did I mention any tribunal. The possible turning point for me is that it sounded like loads of fans were / have become anti CTWD and if AA held another ballot tomorrow I'm not convinced that those of us who are against the name change would win the day.
I'll leave it to the CTWD committee to be diplomatic, but for me, the reason is this: CTWD have it right. They're trying to save the club from being permanently disfigured in search of short term success. The other side are trying to appease a selfish, cantankerous old brat who's throwing a wobbly because he can't get his own way. Everybody's got their opinions sure, but the people booing tonight were wrong. That's the issue.
Something that nobody seems to have mentioned, but I found quite interesting. "City 'Til I Die" was sang in the last minute of the 1st half and 89th minute - yet NOBODY booed, but there were clear boos during the 19:04 rendition. It's sad that folk seem to be booing an age old chant, just because of when/how it's sang. City fans NEED to pull together and get behind the team; if these "plastics" or whatever they are want to jeer then that's unfortunate for them - they've paid good money to simply create controversy. Let's hope it's the last of this division - and that everyone gets behind the lads at Newcastle and West Brom next week!
the problem is that CTWD adopted it as their anthem. if they chose another song, then I could see why jeering at "City 'Til I Die" would be wrong.
They aren't booing the chant or what the chant stands for but booing the negativity that it could have on the players and the game because it has being adopted by CTWD and whilst they defend the club they are also at the detriment to it.
The saddest thing is the 19:04 chant is often the only bit of atmosphere we create in a home match. I wonder how many boos there will be next weekend at Newcastle? That'll show what kind of turds are booing. Not that it needs proving. The only bloke I could visibly see booing was wearing his brand new replica shirt with his own name printed on the back with a number. Make of that what you will.
But that's just an opinion. Neither side is wrong. You had to expect this to happen. No one can ever agree 100% with an opinion, no matter how righteous it is. You're always gonna have to deal with people who disagree and tonight was the first time this happened. I just think it's a little bit rich to be so upset about it when really they're not doing much different to CTWD. I agree, they could have done it in another way other than booing but this was an unorganised impulsive reaction.
Just a couple of points, hoping for a non abusive reply (i wont get my hopes up....) 1) Everyone against the name change - You say there is no proof that changing the name will bring success/extra investment etc etc. However, conversely, where is the proof that it won't bring success/extra revenue? 2) To everyone that is saying 'well hull city afc have just signed abc for £x million and we are doing perfectly well as it is' just think about why we are in the position we are in..... We are in the position we are in because, despite not getting his way and despite saying he is looking to sell the club, Assem Allam still ploughed a lot of his own money in to the club to fund the signings we bought over the summer. If he really wanted to throw his toys out of the pram he could have refused to buy anyone like Randy Lerner did most of the summer. You may not agree with his reasoning and his decision to want to change the name but please, the guy deserves some respect for what he has done for this football club. Some of the abuse he gets on here is disgusting it really is. I have made my stance clear on here before, i would rather the team was called Hull City, but as Craig in Nottingham has said, i would much rather have Allam in charge than not have him in charge of this club. Unfortunately that means sacrificing the name but if Allam goes and we get a new owner - for every Roman Abramovich, there are at least 10 Massimo Cellino's....
