Indeed. The way they were ran into the ground by various ****s ripping money out of the club was disgusting as most save the very top clubs have had to endure. It sounds daft but one of the most happy times as a fan in recent years was watching them win the jpt against Scunthorpe. I know I will never see us win anything but it felt very good all the same.

When I'm in the UK I go and watch the local non-league team where my parents live. Near on administration then promotion to the conference, relegation into non-league obscurity due to points deductions yet the same people go week in and week out as its for the love of the game. Admittedly they have never had an owner who is such a greedy non-ambitious twat, and non-league football isn't about shirt sales and TV revenue, so if people spoke with their feet the clubs would cease to exist. Point is, it doesn't matter about the level, the highs and lows are what comes of being a supporter. If we stopped watching cause we aren't winning we might as well be Man Utd supporters.

Sunderland? My phone is a bit dodgy and twas mistyped.

Either don't go or go I just don't see any point going and making Pardew out banners etc it doesn't help anything.

Your new to me but I get the distinct feeling you lack omega 3 in your diet.

    2 points/questions i have:

How can you claim to have chosen option 1 when you are very frequently commenting on threads on this board, and offering your opinions on all things NUFC?

I've thought about giving up on NUFC a few times..I'm a ST holder and love going to games despite our current situation. I'm a lover of football and will always keep a keen eye on the EPL but i couldn't help but follow the toon. You can't just switch off to it IMO. Giving up on NUFC would be giving up on football for me.

Think I'll stick with Option 2.

Same as Somb, I've seen worse than this.
I go because I want to go, my choice, and if anyone doesn't want too, its simple, don't go.

When you grew up on Steve Hardwick and David Barton trying to find ways of giving away goals and losing to Chester, Shrewsbury and Wrexham then Krul and Coloccini being ****e in the premier league doesn't seem that bad in comparison.

    Aye, the good old days.
I've gone all sentimental and teary eyed just thinking about it. <cry>
I was going to say that the way Krul and Colo are playing just now, they'd have fitted quite nicely into a McGarry XI, but, I'm not sure they'd have actually gotten in the team. <laugh>

I too am secret Option No 3.

I support the team (the players out on the pitch) but I've had enough of Pardew and Ashley to a lesser extent. I've followed and supported the club since the early 80's and will continue to do so until I am pushing up daisies.

I watch the games live (from Australia) via the internet so at least I still feel as if I'm doing my bit in terms of supporting the team by watching the games. Would I attend games if I lived in the north east? Probably yes. Would I wear my black and white stripes? Most definitely yes....but not a strip purchased under the Ashley regime, and this is more an issue with our current shirt sponsor and not Ashley himself. Would I join in with the chants of "Pardew out" on the terraces? Probably yes. Paying to attend games does not give you exclusive rights to voice your opinion just because you are there, neither does it mean that you are in favour of the current manager / owner but subsequently nor does not going to games. There is no wrong or right answer in all this. This is called an opinion, which last time I checked everyone still had the right to, and this being an NUFC forum is exactly the place for these "opinions" to be discussed. It's what makes such good reading.

It's clear from reading the replies to this thread and the many others on here that going to games is more than just "going to games". It's the build up to the game during the week, having a few beers and some food before/after (or both). All we ask is that we are given something to look forward to week in week out. If Pardew can deliver that for us then no-one can really have cause to complain.
