how ANYONE can blame Green for the first is beyond me !! it was whipped in so he had no chance of getting to it first, he had to wait for the ball to pass the players in front (they could have headed it) then after it passed the last player he went to save it.... nothing else he could do !!!
It beggers belief that people want Green dropped after he was consistently good last season and we are only 4 games in. The first goal is beyond dispute if you know anything about goalkeeping. 99% of the time a player gets something on to a delivery like that.
I don't know anything about goalkeeping, but he still looked a right tit letting it in, just like Seaman did letting that Ronaldinho one in. Might be 'bare bones' time already next Saturday - Sandro not fit/off injured; with our record will both of Barton and Mutch be fit and/or match fit?; Fer - allegedly not match fit (but well rested!); there's obviously still something wrong with Charlie; Yun - disappeared, won't be match fit even if he is fit; Vargas - when was the last time he played a full game, not match fit; BZ is only fit for 20 minutes, but it's match fit despite not playing; and we still have midweek training to get through, both Hoilett and Traore have been remarkably fit so far this season, surely a hamstring waiting to happen there. And then the players have to get in and out of baths, bend to pick up TV remotes, use knives and forks avoiding injury the whole time 24/7/365 - it's a jungle out there! You need a ****ing miracle to get 11 match fit fit players out there. And when you do what happens? Somebody gets injured! wink
I'd be close to that with Vargas in for Phillips from your selection and Traore for Yun. Phillips hasn't impressed and Yun- not seen him, still injured? Austin needs to do more than yesterday, a lot more. Green ? Could only blame him a bit for their 3rd but their Keeper then pulled out the save of the game that Green didn't make. He stopped Falcao but should have dealt better with Blind's initial shot. Mayne hard but I'd like to see Mccarthy get a chance too. He could make a positive difference. So could Adel.
Phillips must be rested as he has been getting worse and worse imo. ---------------------------Green------------------------ Isla--------------Rio-------------Caulker----------Traore -------------------Barton------Sandro------------------ Hoilett---------------------Fer------------------Taarabt ------------------------Austin-------------------------- If Sandro isn't fit, then I'd play Henry in there.
I have no idea, but why is it being taken for granted that Barton & Mutch will be fit to play on Saturday?
I don't think Green deserves to be dropped and like others I think Ned deserves a chance. Also need to see Young back, even if only for 45 mins. ------------------Green----------------- Isla---OnouhaâCaulker---Suk-Young/Traore ----------------Barton------------ Phillips--------------Fer---------Hoilett ----------Austin------Vargas---------
Col, I have no idea how bad his injury is but isn't it meant to be hamstring? Those things can be little b*****s & are a law unto themselves how they will react. I just want us to play a central midfield where they are all fit enough to play! You may get away with one still gaining fitness but that is all.
If injuries are already setting in hard then its time for someone to seriously look at the coaching methods (if there are any) and the surface at the training ground. One season could be just bad luck but if it persists then there's something wrong.
I agree mate. I thought I read somewhere that Barton was expected to be fit for Utd. I therefore surmised that he wasn't quite ready and that Harry would prefer to save him for a game we had more chance to win. I'm probably wrong!! Anyway, we'll know on Saturday. See you for the half time think tank.
So many different options by so many different members - anyone would think we were spoilt for choice!
