Great strike from Morgan. It's almost like he waited a split second til Krul was off balance and out of posaition, before flicking it over him.
That goal had pretty much everything. Loved the two flicks by Pelle, the tenacity from Davis and Clyne, the general easy passing around by the team, with off the ball running still happening in the 92nd minute. Then Morgan's peerless placement. It really did round off an excellent day.
Bloody hell. I only just noticed how tall Florin Gardos is!! Watch the players congratulating Morgan. He makes Schneiderlin look like Harry Reed.
How many goals have every member of the team touching it in the build up (Forster made a clearance to Pelle on about 12), headers, back heels, and then an exquisite finish at the end. The more I watch it the better it gets.
Just to put it in perspective though, 41 passes and not a hint of a tackle. Newcastle are in a lot of trouble.
Lovely exhibition goal...the type you see in a testimonial...against a completely demoralised opposition. Love Pelle's flicks...his trademark move. Note he was in position for his hat trick goal...didn't immediately raise his arms in celebration as probably a little disappointed. I noticed Gardos as well...never knew Morgan was a dwarf before

The part that makes me happy most about that goal, was to see Spider smile after scoring it. Looks like he's happy to be playing his football for us again.
It was "Ole" football, the only thing missing was the "Ole" from the crowd. Some crowds do it after a few passes. Maybe we're getting a bit spoilt !
I think the crowd couldn't believe that Newcastle were making little attempt to get the ball and also assumed that we were just wasting time, not realising that it was a secret master plan to score a fourth. I think Pelle was expecting the ball, but Morgan got bored.
There were some Olé's earlier in the second half, but Saints were keeping possession a lot better in the second half so I think the crowd got bored with it. The last set, culminating in the goal, was brilliant, because there were a few moments when Newcastle could have got the ball if they'd tried a bit harder but there was always a Saints player to pass to. Until Davis' long ball across to Pellè who flicked it to JWP who passed to Morgan, I thought they were just winding the clock down, but Morgan clearly had other ideas.
Stunning. Thank god for the internet. I was camping and missed the match (and MotD isn't on iPlayer!), so was very pleased to be able to see this. It's a thing of beauty.
Something I noticed was that at the start of the game, the Saints players had a team huddle (as usual), but Newcastle's players were just in their positions waiting for kickoff. Says it all really.
You maybe shocked to know that MoTD showed three of the passes in the build up to the goal. Apparently it wasn't Spuds or Chelsea or Manure or Wenger's boys, so it wasn't that good.
Exactly - also, the majority of the press reports on this match concentrated mostly on how woeful Newcastle were and when Alan Pardew might get sacked. Little mention of the skill, effort & determination shown by the Saints team. We should be used to this by now but it is damn annoying.
