Never mind Oddball, is there anyone that can understand Imaz' stuff (other than Stan) without having their search-engine on emergency standby? That blokes posts are more cryptic than bloody Mastermind
Why Nines? because i was defending a team that never ha a chance at man Utd anyway. they had Falcoa on the bench FFS Some people really need a reality check. We are a small club in a big league and the bet this was we didnt concede 6 as others have over the past few years In what life time were we ever going to win this match...? Certainly not mine. opinions are fine, but all i see is people looking for excuses to blame harry, Hoddle .TF or any other person they dont like, rather than accept the simple fact that even at half strentgh, Man Utd are years ahead of us. Some people just dont understand that mate ,
As Queens has said, we were at long odds to win but the fact that other, better teams have been smashed by Man City or Chelsea, etc means we are not the only ones who will cop it this year. Remember Arsenal getting smashed last season .................. doesn't mean Wengers' a bad manger or his team is crap. We have a good team who have only played one or two games together. We will get better and the season is long ............. let's not get too carried away, just yet.
The main problem I have is that, although we were always unlikely to win or even get a draw, I can't imagine another team in this league that would have given the game away that easily. Burnley have played United and Chelsea (albeit at home) and have a -2 goal difference and a point from it. They also gave a good account of themselves in their games. We might be heavily odds on to lose but it shouldn't mean that we just expect a limp 4-0 drubbing every time we play someone good (especially an injured beast). The positive is that our home performances have been a lot more spiroted although I worry, if we continue along in the vain of yesterday's showing, the home form will be affected. The away performances need to improve dramatically too otherwise I wouldn't see us picking up more that 5 points all season on our travels. The players are good enough compared to our rivals at the bottom but the displays are not. Individually, there are moments when you can see every player has the ability but coherence is lacking.
Good game yesterday lads. You were up against it fromntge off but held on well for 25 minutes and caused us more problems than some are letting on. Apparently you will be relegated. Not sure why? Its a dig at united and not qpr. End of the day you didnt expect 3 points in the game. Taking points off sunderland and co is where you want to be this season.
Probably not but I was expecting a lot more effort. We stood off them far too much. We just didn't get stuck in. That is the point that I and many are trying to make on here. Can't see why there are others that just don't get it.
I felt there was a game plan and effort. it looked like they were trying to deny room with numbers rather than press the ball to stop them getting behind us which they did in the main. two soft goals in the first half and had we "had a go " early on i reckon it could have been a cricket score. UTd were quick and slick and frankly just too good. Not sure but wasnt it 6 attempts on goal and 4 goals and im afraid thats the difference in this division. if Phillips and Krank had converted which they should have done thenit doesnt seem as bad, but they didnt and thats what we must do. Im not an apologist for Harry nor anti him. I think the team/squad is as good as we have had for years and will be good enough imo
You are right mate. Everything about yesterday pointed to us losing but after we weathered the storm of the first twenty minutes we started to get a foothold in the game only for Hill to give away a silly free kick. I reckon you were three goals from three attempts on goal in the first half. Although you weregood going forward everything went for you in that first half and we were never going to recover from that. If Matty Phillips had managed a half decent shot into an empty net it may have all been so different.
