I was just looking for that picture of the Crystal palace supporters holding up a long banner with "Sky Sports, killing English football since 1992" when I stumbled across this article about our famous win at Old Trafford in 1992. Dennis Bailey ruined my tea United were like Liverpool once⦠20+ years without the Holy Grail nestling like a shiny silver beacon of light in the Old Trafford trophy cabinet. Years of underachievement, disappointment and watching your main rivals clean up the trophies was the story of Manchester United since the last league championship of 1967, in fact much like the Liverpool over the past 20 years. Yes there were the magical nights that gave us the European Cup of 68, the Cup Winners Cup of 91 and not to mention the Scouse busting FA cup wins of the 70âs and 80âs. But it was the league title however that all reds craved. Read on at http://redmancunian.com/2012/07/20/dennis-bailey-ruined-my-tea/ Let's try and keep our chins up all you long suffering R's, Rome was not built in a day. We all want our team to do well but lets face it, it's all about survival this season as we already know, we will most likely get many painful hidings on the road. Come on you R's, still early on so lets not start to panic too much just yet. Peace!
Thanks for a cheerful note. I will sleep and dream of being in my 60's (at least 30 years away) telling my Grandchildren that once I saw QPR lose to Burton Albion and Vauxhall Motors, and we used to play Chelsea (a non-league side by then) in a big local derby. I can only smile at the look of shock and disbelief on their faces. Ah, such a sweet dream!
Brave effort but there seems few of us not calling for Harry to be sacked. Personally I think that is ludicrous. His press conference non verbal communication shows that HE CARES, contrary to the 'informed' opinion on here. We had two shots on target to day. That's about two more than usual when we play Man U. His comments about match fitness have been distorted. They refer specifically to Sandro not having ref games at Spurs and Fer not getting games while on international duty. The hysteria over this entirely expected loss is beyond a joke. If we'd played as hard as some wanted to see that would likely lead to injuries or reds (Derry) with a knock on effect for subsequent, easier games. Harry stays: TF stays: we stay too! I know we'll all be United behind the lads on Saturday.
Fair play RTID, good post mate. I'm banning myself for a few days until the dust settles so to speak!
Come on Stroller, no need for that my friend. I know it sucks when we loose and I feel your pain brother. I think you are a top top poster on this forum mate, please try to chill out.
Sorry again, fair play Stroller, good man! Right, speak soon and I hope you people have a great week if you can. Peace!
Fair play mate. I have been out all day doing family stuff. I was going to watch a recording of the game but having read most of the feedback on here I think Ill give it a miss.
We are 3 points off where we should all really expect to be Hull was winnable and I thought we played well in that game Spurs and Man U away come on? But I agree we should of put in more fight ? Our season has to be about taking points at LR If we start losing badly in front if our home fans then that's the time to review the set up and I am not a Harild fan... We have a new team FFS I stand by my comments re the reaction of posts after a match as if course it's getting worse but like our team we recover and go again If you were to collect the post match posts on here then we are all guilty of having the sickness of a modern day fickle football fan. Maybe I Sam totally unrealistic to think we would be any different but the cash injection and the continuing PR bollocks along with natural but misguided expectation is bound to fuel the fire. Respect to the posters who restrain from venting on here
Morning Stroller. Please tell me, specifically, which part of that was bollox to see if we can find some common ground.
Morning RTID. I'm afraid I had drink taken last night, but I'm sober this morning and still fuming about that performance. I think it was the first two words of your post that set me off, mate. 'Brave effort' it was not. It was gutless. We should have been fired up to frustrate United, but we just capitulated. Shameful.
Lol. 'Brave effort' was for UTRs post to try and be positive, NOT about the team's performance which was anything but. My over night reflection is that no matter what the issues behind the scenes (injuries etc) and no matter who was selected for QPR, it should have been a damn sight more difficult for United than it was. I know I've shifted from last night's opinion a bit but that's what time to think does. Watched Forrest v Leeds yesterday. Either of them would have troubled United a lot more than we did. TF needs to ask Harry why that might be so.
