With the greatest respect Patty. When you read that it's bollocks, especially these bits. "The accounts will show we made a profit of around £8m to £8.5m last year. "He insists his ongoing bid to become Hull Tigers is based solely on a desire to make the club self-financing as a global brand which, he believes, will generate new revenue streams in the short and long terms." This would indicate to me that the club is self financing. On top of that they (Ehab) indicated our income last year was circa £130m with a wage bill of £42m. We should be rolling in it. Why would anybody rebrand such a strong brand?
It's a business that is improving & performing better than at any other period in it's history, it makes no business sense what-so-ever to rebrand. It's akin to Apple rebranding to Satsuma or Virgin rebranding as Hymenintactus.
Ask your kids if the want a packet of opal fruits or a marathon bar. My first phone was on the Cellnet network and I used jif kitchen cleaner all the time. Nothing will work if you don't try it.
PMSL!! When you dig yourself into a hole - Stop digging!! Dogs don't understand a word you say - fullstop. If you've actually got one then try replacing a word of command with a completely different one but say it with the same tone - the dog responds the same - everytime. Chimpanzees are a completely different animal and show a limited amount of communication skills - I'm having an internet conversation with one at the moment but fear he is not grasping the basics of understanding at the moment.
Nothing needs to work or be tried regarding rebranding, we're performing & continually improving just perfectly as Hull City AFC, nickname The Tigers.
Spot on Captain Cave man, I mean, the makers of marathon must be kicking themselves now, who eats Snickers now?
Marathon's were renamed to bring the in line with what they were called in the rest of the world. Sales didn't increase because of it.
you are absolutely correct that the branding was changed to bring them in line with the rest of the world, I being one that bought many "Snickers" in America, but the fact is that sales of snickers did actually increase,so please don't state facts that are incorrect as if you know!
To be fair to SCB, he did say "Sales didn't increase because of it", the fact that sales increased does not mean that there is a direct link. I was only 10 when they changed Marathon to Snickers, but I can still remember the fact that there was a large advertising campaign at the time. If Marathon had received the same level of advertising, who is to say the sales of the originally named product wouldn't have risen?
You too are indeed correct. I know he wasn't saying sales had not increased, but it was the manner inwhich he was implying he was some kind of expert in the economics of Global rebranding!
I maybe wrong (I was once before) but didn't Marathon bar, Opal fruits and Jif all change their name to be the same as what they were already called and sold as in the rest of the world which is completely different to what Allam is trying to do.
