Here. I caught the first half on a stream, but missed the second; I'm assuming you improved? Congrats on the win
Cambiasso and Drinkwater changed things. It was a tough choice from Nige to start with the team who has done well even though Drinky and Cambiasso are probably te better two so yeah we dramatically improved. It was a smash and grab but all wins and 3 points. Warm Utd up for us tomorrow please
Was a bit off the pace first half but once Drinkwater and Cambiasso took control Hammond was pretty solid defensively Nearly scored a 25 yarder and nearly turned Cambiasso's free kick in
Liam Moore best player for me. But boy, Cambiasso has still got it. Every time he got the ball he looked so composed, and his delivery was excellent. Him and Drinkwater coming on changed the game. I was hoping they both would start, but fair play to Pearson by keeping faith in the team that has done so well so far in the Premier League. Can't believe we have that first win, and at the Britannia of all places!
Yup Cambiasso still looks absolute quality. He awareness of the game and keeps things simple. Those 3 points are massive for us and makes out start to the season a great one Mind the gap queeny. Lol
Cambiasso pinged a couple of 30 yard passes right to the feet of his intended targets within a few minutes of coming on. I know then that the second half was going to be very different...
He seemed nervous at first - understandably so, it was his club and Premier League debut - but rose to the challenge after he realised he'd been identified as the weak link by Stoke. I'd still have Kasper back in goal ASAP, but feel more confident in turning to Hamer when we need him.
I was very conceded when I heard Kasper was out as I didn't rate Hamer and he looked quite dodgy in pre season. But today i think he proved he is more then capable of covering if/when we need him But I will still bring Kasper back if he is fit
He did attempt a Kasper-esque quick throw which went straight out of play and fumble the ball early on (cleared by the defence), but as I say, comparing his experience to Kasper's, he's a long way behind so it would be unfair to expect him to be as good.
Someone should have warned Cambiasso that in England outfield players aren't allowed to throw the ball!
Ha ha! I obviously replied to the wrong Proud quote there! I was referring to Hamer. Can't really fault Cambiasso at all...
Sign of a world class player. Tricky team selection headache for Nigel v Man Utd Would love DD and Cambiasso to start but harsh on Hammond
Play all 3 like today? Why not? I'd like to see Vardy and Schlupp/Mahrez wide, supporting Ulloa. Hammond can sit deep and allow Cambiasso and Drinkwater to work their magic either side of him.
Cambiasso has 'vision' ... which separates great from good players ... his left footed chipped pass to Leo on the far post was absolute top drawer ... Ref has a very good game ... my only (minor) criticism was how Shawcross did not pick up a yellow for the lunge tackle on Vardy late on ... it was very late and could hardly be termed 'going for the ball' ... I suspect Vardy had already anticipated it and was able to get his feet in the air pre-impact ... if he hadn't, Shawcross might well have added another unwanted statistic to his CV...
