That's a great win! Just shows how bad Stoke are this year if they can't score from 20+ shots. That's terrible shot efficiency.

Smash and grab's are key to survival, we did it to DQPR on the first game of the Season. 3 points is 3 points no matter how ugly.

Cheers pal. A massive 3 points for us make no mistake. Incredible fight from our players throwing bodies on the line. Very happy. Mind the gap

I don't think it was a smash and grab. We deserved it for our second half performance. Stoke were far and away the better side in the first, but really don't worry us in terms of efforts. Their lack of creativity in the final third allowed us to change things at half time, which we duly did and we turned the game around. We came close on a few occasions of grabbing a second (which would have been harsh on Stoke), before the inevitable soaking up of pressure, which we handled very well. It was a deserved win... even though our first half performance was the worst of the season so far.

Overall I agree with you ... Stoke may feel a little hard done by given their first half dominance but after the break we were the team looking more likely to score and actually had the more clear cut chances ... and I've seen penalties given for such last ditch tackles as the one that denied Leo his second ... a pure reading of the stats makes it looks like Stoke were very unlucky when in reality many of their efforts were desperate ... fine team performance ... Cambiasso wow ... what a difference he made when he came on ... good job 3 of us thought he would sign eh? <whistle>... and Leo? ... I did say he would become a 'fans favourite' and some of those getting their knickers in a twist about the price tag (homage to Jessie J) must surely recognise what a bargain that now was (even given that we have only played four games)... best cameo of the game? ... Liam Moore's run in the second half when he took on Stoke single handed from his own penalty area to theirs ... aren't many centre backs can do that Woy!

Been reading a lot about how they created 24 shots but only 4 on target and 2 of those in injury time is not a sign of a team that 'should have won'. In fact its pretty ****, 20 really **** chances, thats just pointless. We created more clear cut chances than they did I think

    Wow, cracking result!

Always wary of away games, and Stoke having just come from beating Man City away, I'll admit I would have been happy with a point.

Clean sheet, and another goal for Leo.., happy days <cheers>

I think that's the point though - only three people though he would sign BECAUSE he's a different class. Things like that don't normally happen to us! Moore's run was fantastic; how many men did he beat?! Surely he'll play for England one day.

As for Ulloa - I'm understanding now why Nige rated him so highly. Every time we defended a corner, he seemed to be organising the defence! Although he's not as creative as Nugent or fast as Vardy, I think he's the best finisher at the club (wish was to be expected for his fee) but, more importantly, he is the best all-round player. The big difference between him here and at Brighton is that he is all smiles here. At Brighton, he seemed an angry, frustrated player. Maybe it was his bag that someone took a s**t in during poopgate!

I think we have some great options at the moment. I'd like to make a special mention of Hammond too, who was brilliant today. I remember getting criticism several months ago for suggesting he might have something to offer in the Prem, but even I didn't think he'd make himself undroppable!

Very happy. I don't remember at any time feeling concerned when they won corner after corner as there was no creativity or hint that they would create anything. Thought the entire back 4 were exceptional and we were a far classier outfit in the second half. We have got some serious competition for places now in a very confident side. A bit ironic for Conrad that he sat on the bench for so long with Kasper not ever getting injured until now. Hamer did well.

That's true about the corners. We weren't worried about knocking the ball out for corners at all, because we knew we'd deal with them. We look so well organised in defence (and I don't just mean the back five).

I was worried when Hammond went in rashly on Bojan in the area. A lot of refs would have given that. Happily Mr Oliver didn't and also played a great advantage to allow us to breakaway for the goal

How it go ? "It´s what´s in the top left corner that counts" - "The idea of football is to score one more than them" - "A win is a win"

    Case closed.

Not quite sure what you mean, but if you mean we played ´not to good´ v Sheep but still won & ppl had a moan, that maybe because we we´re still needing pts to go up/win the lge & some may have been a little anxious that we we´re starting to `not dominate`like we had been up until that point.

I for one was always moaning that we couldn´t keep a clean sheet drawing 1-1 or 2-2, when we should of won, Blackpool for i.e or going 2-0 up letting them score in the 80th min & having our backs to the wall for the rest of the game & `getting away with it in the end`.

This season we can play not to good, get a result & be happy. It´s a different situation now from last season. Last season we , after xmas, knew we were good enough to get out the championship, this season we don´t know if we are good enough to stay up so any win/point will be welcome even if it is a `smash & grab win.
