ah so he could no longer feel superior to all other fans? he would be just another face in the crowd. shame
Agree with this, that there will be plenty of half and half scarf buyers who get a sufficient thrill at seeing Gerrard, Rooney etc to keep crowds up at the moment. If we go down though watch crowd numbers fall off a cliff. Millwall on a Tuesday night in February? 9,000 if we're lucky.
It seems a lot of the more vocal fans, in terms of singing and creating the atmosphere, are against it enough to stop going. Which could have a detrimental effect on team performances. I could see there being a hardcore, say 20%, myself included, refusing to ever go watch Hull Tigers. Perhaps organising protests outside the ground every week but never attending actual games? I think other NO folks would still go, but be very vocal against Allam, perhaps chanting for him to leave. The "silent majority" would just sit there passively. As long as we stayed in the Premier League. I could also see any future owner, in say 5-10 years, reversing the name change to win over (or win back) the hardcore.
Why would changing the name mean we'd get into the top 5? We'd be much more likely to be relegated, same as we are now.
****s sake how simple? AA cares about this club and he will continue to plow money into Hull Tigers and therefore we can buy better players. gottit now?
He's not going anywhere. Who is going to pay him the money he wants for a team that doesn't own the ground. All Thursday was is another rehash of "if you don't give me what I want I'm off, honest".
If the rebrand goes through most of those who complain about it will still go to matches. The ones who refuse to go won't be missed or remembered, because others who want to see top quality football will soon take their places.
You mean the ones queuing around the block now to see us play? The Man City game has been on sale a week already and hardly a single ticket has been sold.
Well I won't Madge, I'm the same age as he is - I wonder if he takes 70 pills a week like I do. Maybe that is why he appeared to be a little disorientated at the press conference.
If he gets his way ......He wont I hope someone starts AFC HULL CITY. Hopefully all the north standers x e1 e2 e3 Go with the new club .. We will get back into division 4 and take if from there .
Nothing to do with it being on a Monday night, the A63 closed, a televised game and tickets at £35. Almost forgot and against West Ham!!
I love how people there there are hordes of fans waiting to replace the ones who will be disaffected by a name change. We only got 18,149 for a home European fixture ffs. If the name stays - everyone will be happy. If the name changes the club will be split. It's as simple as that. No one sane would risk that for an idea that has not even been researched and is being dismissed out of hard around the footballing world.
