Cracking flat card at Leopardstown. 6.15 Mustajeeb 2/1 6.50 Australia 4/11 Double pays 3.1/1. I don't mind if I do
Down in Austria for the day tomorrow, but have backed Romsdal for the St.Leger. Doesn't owe me a penny so will stay loyal to him.
Returning the favour to Wooly and Stickwise - PWISE tomorrow - 2.40 - Compton Park / Out do - 3.50 Kings Fete and already advised - Grandukeoftuscany - good luck fellas
There does not appear to be any betting available on what time Roger Varian will withdraw Kingston Hill. Will the owner decide to chance it given that it is already Good To Firm in the straight? It is his last chance for a Classic. Some small but trappy fields at Doncaster but in the opener it is hard to look beyond impressive Superlative Stakes winner Estidhkaar. Will the bookies take him on carrying a penalty? He has enough in hand on the ratings to win despite it. The only concern is that he may have to make all: is Hanagan good at the sectionals? Gregorian was the beaten favourite in the Park Hill last year but having finished ahead of likely market leader Aljamaaheer in the July Cup, I see no reason why he will not again over the extra furlong, having been touched off at Newbury over the distance. Mighty Yar ran abysmally in the Ebor and might return to form but I cannot see him giving eleven pounds to the three year old Mount Logan from the in-form Cumani outfit. After the Arab race, the getting out stakes looks like an excellent opportunity for Cumani’s Velox to get back to winning ways after his expensive no-show in the Betfred Mile. Perhaps the problem was the Goodwood track as he looked nothing like the ready Sandown winner of a few weeks previously. Stewards’ Cup winner Intrinsic was bitterly disappointing at Newmarket last time, so as I desert him in the Portland he will probably bolt up. Will Muthmir end up ridiculously short again? Most of the pace in the race appears to be drawn low.
Morning All. Today's lucky 15. Doncaster,2-05.Estidhkaar. Chester,2-55.Sonnockian Star. Doncaster,3-15.Gregorian. Leopardstown,6-15.Mustajeeb.(Nap) Good luck to all.
Morning All Just a win Acca for me today: 3.40 Ling Interception 11/8 5.15 Leop Free Eagle 5/6 6.05 Don Maverick Wave 9/4 6.15 Leop Mustajeeb 7/4 Now that Roger Varian has decided to run Kingston Hill, then I really can't see past him, yes there are question marks around the trip but the jockey and trainer seem confident it will not be a problem, the horse brings the best form to the table and I think as long as he stays he will win. Whatever the outcome it promises to be a cracking race anyway. Cheers Trevez
The jockey and the trainer are not the ones who will be running the last half mile on ground in the straight that is officially Good To Firm. Other than the ground, the distance (possibly) and the fact that the horse has not won a race this season, if you want a reason for not having a penny on the favourite, ask yourself when was the last time that a horse ran in the 1000 or 2000 Guineas and won the St Leger. The answer is 1985 – Oh So Sharp won the fillies’ Triple Crown. Better horses than Kingston Hill have tried and failed. It is a long season.
I'd be laying Kingston Hill all day in the leger. Don't think he will stay the trip and if this wasn't a classic i'm convinced he wouldn't even be running. Couple that with the stat that QuarterMoon just gave and i just cannot see him winning. The stats rarely lie in horse racing. There are plenty of unexposed runners behind KH in the market for me to look elsewhere for the winner. What that will be though is a tougher question! Im going to go with toppy and plump for Forever Now
Off Topic: Terrific volley just now by Alexis Sanchez to give Arsenal the lead at The Emirates. He got a booking to remember it by for taking his shirt off – Muppet!
What a race this has been down the years... Still think that Dylan Thomas / Ouija Board race is one of the top flat races of the last decade. It's insane how far they pull clear of Alexander Goldrun who was hardly a mug herself.
All valuable points so fair play as we are all entitled to our own opinions and that is why the forum works so well One of the unexposed runners might well beat him, but I just feel Kingston Hill in this field sets the standard and if he stays he will win but obviously that is a big If! For a bigger price in the race then Scotland would be my each way shout, needs to obviously improve and another one stepping up in trip but has been running well this season.
Make no mistake people, Kingston Hill's Derby form is streets clear of the rest. IF he stays they'll not see what way he goes. The little problem lies within that if however
Alex Salmond has had all three groats of the wealth of an independent Scotland on the horse. He is going to share his winnings with all the 16 and 17 year olds that vote ‘Yes’ next week.
I still laugh about these 'Yes' campaigns taking place at Celtic Park. Is there a football stadium in the world where it would be harder to find the national flag of the country in which that team is actually based?! Absolutely no shortage of Irish tricolours, but Saltires...mmmm...not so many but we're so Scottish please vote Yes
