From the HDM: SB on AA "That means, he will stay and he will win his case. I genuinely believe that will be the case." Is it wishful thinking? Is it an attempt to temporarily steady the ship? SB is walking a tightrope here. If there ever was a time to shift Ehab into the chair, that time has come.
I think it's sad that having managed to keep a distance last time - Bruce is being drawn into the debate this time round. He's never going to contradict his employer in public, so I am not going to judge him on what he's said. As for knowing the appeal will be successful - you only have to look at the remit of Rule K of the FA rule book to see that it doesn't have the power to overturn an FA decision, it can only pass a verdict on the validity of the process. And since Allam has said there will be no further application, we seem to be stuck in a vicious circle.
I get the feeling Bruce wants to stay as neutral as possible, and doesn't want to annoy his boss or the fans. However, he's been forced into the debate like the Queen has regarding Scottish independence. Credit to him though, as I can't see him staying for much long if this s**t continues.
Iv had plenty of bosses in my time, some i respected some i didnt ..Steve respects Mr Allam, because he knows he is a good man doing good things for the City of Hull.. We will be a top 10 team this year, a top 7 team the following, and a poss top 4 within 5 seasons if Mr Allam stays ..
I know it's only the Daily Star, but: Hull boss Steve Bruce concerned for future if owner Assem Allam exits STEVE BRUCE admits he fears for his job if owner Assem Allam walks away from Hull. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/fo...ncerned-for-future-if-owner-Assem-Allam-exits
Since the press conference, which was only held so Allam could clear the air, his comments have had to be clarified on two separate occasions. We are not even two days past the press conference yet. Allam has said that we have lost a £1m worth of sponsorship, despite it previously being on record that there were no sponsorship deals reliant on the name change. Allam thinks Hull City Tigers is the name of the football club, when a quick look in a book would prove otherwise. He believes a name change will bring in money, despite not following even the most basic marketing strategy before implementing a brand change. Indeed, he's pushing ahead with a brand change, despite the current brand getting an exposure through the FA Cup final and the Europa league to an estimated half a billion people! And more than anything - his gift to the people of Hull - is being reclaimed at a rate of 5% p.a. before any repayment of it is even made. Yep. Those people who don't respect Allam. Picky picky picky.
Steve Bruce at yesterdays press confrence 'in England we're huge traditionlists and so am i, i have to say so am i' If he could call allams idea a laughing stock he would, lets be quite clear about this.
It has got nothing to do with Steve Bruce, I wish they would stop asking him about it, he is an employee of the club, not a fan. He will, forever and a day, back his boss/owner in these kinda situations. Who would honestly bad mouth their bosses ideas/motives and expect no kind of negative consequence? Constantly asking SB about this is just lazy journalism. Focus on team news, and results that's his job, not the running of a business he has no affinity to other than the payslip he gets each month!
i reckon privately, Bruce was as gutted as the rest of us when all this started again.. of course he cant say publicly, but i reckon Mrs Bruce got an earful about the crazy old fool at work, over there cottage pie on Thursday night .
