I always found Fife to be fine.... Aberdeen and Dundee however.... jezus you don't want to get drunk in any bars there, then again getting served with an Inglish accent in Aberdeen is almost impossible.
I must admit I don't know anything about Fife. Andy Murray's comments when he was a 17-year-old- why are they still held against him? Especially when he was talking about a football rivalry! A friend of mine who is a scouser moved up to Edinburgh a few years ago, and he and his wife will both be voting Yes, so it can't be that bad!
I don't. There are political differences, though, highlighted by Scottish aversion to the Bedroom Tax.
I didn't think you would, FHB. I don't get why people would - how many of the financial markets are anticipating this move and wanting to pull from the London SE? How would Scotland get in to the EU should they choose to? Salmond has targeted the casual voter, and seemingly with success. Sadly, we completely messed up ''vote no''.
We? it's a Scotch decision nothing to do with us Inglanders so it seems.... not even a decision for the Scotch living in Ingerland.
If we do get a No vote next week, it would not be a surprise to see the ugly wing of Scottish Nationalism resort to terrorism. Interesting that Standard Life have said today that they will redeploy to England in the case of a Yes vote - they employ over 4,000 people in Edinburgh alone. Alex Salmond is a bad breathed snake oil salesman- incredible that the Scottish people seem to be falling for his smoke and mirrors illusion.
The English should never be seen in Aberdeen, and they would be as good as dead in Peterhead. You are treated like a thief if you are English in Leith.
The Andy Murray comment was a joke, but I do agree that some Scottish Nationalists display open hatred towards the English. I'm not sure the English are the only race you are openly allowed to hate... after all, I've been pretty clear about my hatred for the French I really hope this referendum votes 'No'. Great Britain is only great when we're all together IMO.
One undoubted positive if the Scots did vote 'yes' to independence.....it would en Celtic's campaign to play in the English Championship
Yes, but if you go to the New Den, you'll hear The National Front Sing "You Scotch C**t". not realising that Millwall was originally founded by the Scots.
Up until recently the state subsidised people to stay in properties in the public sector that were too big for them, a luxury not afforded to those in the same circumstances in the private sector. That subsidy was rightly removed, IMO.
Heart says good riddance - it will smash the status quo which is possibly what is required now. Head says absolutely not, of course we are stronger together. Don't like the idea of the Nos winning by a sliver thoughand the Scots getting more giveaways from Westminster on a devo lite ticket.
