Seems many of you would like to see Wickham in that position, but who thinks it will happen this weekend? I don't.

Not so sure that Larson will miss out either..

Actually, i really don't have a clue what team Poyet is going to field. Maybe more of the same..

Still, should have plenty of options on the bench..

I don't know - I would like to see Fletcher benched - I know he was capable of more than we've seen this season but I simply haven't seen him look capable this season. Wickham will be hingry to prove he's worth whatever his representatives are asking for so that, to me, says enough. Crazy all in all but we'll see.

I'd personally like to see an attacking 4 of:

    Buckley-------------Alvarez---------------Johnson

    --------------------Wickham----------------------

Leaving Buckley, Alvarez and Johnson to swap places with each other at will and this would terrorise defences if they did it with discipline.

But if he doesn't drop Fletcher and goes with your midfield, that means Wickham on the bench.

If Wickham is a sub, that could tell us a lot...or at least we can make our own theories up..

You reckon Larsson may be dropped?

Dont think Gus will be bold enough to go that attacking (he may well be right) I think he likes his three centre midfielders with two wingers either side of a lone striker. My guess is he'll go

    ------------------Mannone---------------------
    Vergini-------Oshea------Brown-----Van Aanholt
    --------Rodwell--Cattermole--Larsson-----------
    Johnson---------Wickham------------Giaccherini

    Buckley-------Fletcher/Altidore------Alvarez

As back up/substitutes from the bench. I hope Gus starts Giaccherini atleast untill Alvarez settles in.

Id personally prefer a 4-2-3-1 as it allows an extra attacker and Giaccherini could play behind Wickham with Aj and Ricky out wide.

What hint has he given that Wickham will get the nod to play the main striker?

I think that Wickham was only being used out wide because we hadnt signed the player to play that position and Wickham could do it better than Fletcher. Id be shocked if wickham doesnt start uptop against Spurs

I would like to see Wickham in a more central role, and if that is at the expense of Fletcher then so be it.
Do I think that it will happen this weekend? Sadly no..

We are now a fully fit squad with depth added since the last game.

Johnson, Buckley, Giaccherini, Gomez and Alverez

All capable of playing inside left. There's no excuse for playing a striker on the left who clearly isn't great there and whom could add so much more if simply moved up top. No excuse for me. Fletch has mustered a pathetic 3 shots in three league games. Wickham, stuck in a creative position has managed 8 shots on goal so far but created only two chances in three games. Ffs, even Jozy with his 29 minutes of football this season has created the same amount of chances as Fletch and Wickham, 2 to each of them and NO GOALS, that's how wrong this Fletch/Wickham 'partnership' actually is

The stats match everything I've seen on the pitch. It's a f**ing no brainer if ever there was one.

    I'd go

    Rodwell-------Alvarez
    Johnson---------------------------Giacc
    Whickam
