Can't see Gomis starting over Bony in a game like this tbh.

Same with Fernandez, whilst some have said it would be a confidence boost for them if they play well, it could also really knock their confidence if they perform badly against this opposition....I'll go with Terror's lineup swapping Gomis for Bony.

Although...just thinking about it, Bony will be putting a shift in on Wednesday away to Cameroon....so maybe there is logic in benching him after all....talked myself round ;)

The thought process was identical to mine......I love what Bony brings to our team and would always start him but Gomis is going to be a little bit fresher and looks good enough.

Well Monk will have to decide if he hasn't already when to start Gomis and this game with Bony being away on international duty could be his reason/excuse to start with Gomis and there'd be little that Bony could complain about other than his own professional pride being slighted .

Sorry made me laugh too. It is the very minimum you would expect from a professional PL player returning from international duty. What next Ki shows the strength of his commitment to Swansea by continuing to breath.

This in no way means Ki doesn't have a good attitude and nothing really wrong in him saying this if he wants to show that he is ticking the right boxes and feels he needs to say something; but it is nothing more that meeting basic requirements in a very highly paid job.

Now Ki makes game changing decisive tackles against Chelsea - that would be a great attitude

Maybe Ki has changed his stripes in the way of attitude , we'll see when he rides the bench for a few games . Seems to be a happy camper while starting .Cant imagine Mourinho starting Costa , should be on the bench ready to come on if we are frustrating them .If they are having their way with us he wont get a minute. We need a great game, not just a good one, out of our defence if we get anything from this game . Who has a the best chance at a "Great game " , Amat or Fernandez ?

If Ki continues to perform as he has been then he won't be sitting on the bench this season.

He'll do his share of sitting when Britton returns valley .Shelvey , Ki and Britton will share 2 positions I think , depending on the team were playing . If 2 are really playing well , Monk will play them over the 3rd player , I think Ki will eventually become the odd man out for a bit .

Fingers crossed because he is certainly a stylish player. Ramires had a lot to answer for with that unpunished ankle breaker of a tackle.

Leon will be the one sitting on the bench for the majority of the time from now on and rightly so for a player coming to the end of playing top class football....It's sad but it comes to all players. a true legend.....

But Leon isn't on the slide, yet. Jonjo would be the one collecting splinters if Ki and Leon can play together.

They're all consistent and fit, then it gives Monk a very good selection headache <ok>

Leon is still our stand - out midfielder.

I think some people on here are forgetting how good he is. When he's fit and ready, he'll play nearly every game.

It's not the case of how good he is (and he is ) but how old he is ,something you can't prevent I'm afraid .

Sorry Musty I thought I'd put 'If' at the start. Taff puts it nicely though.
