Anybody travelling down, I've got a ticket but will be down that way for the weekend and am looking for a pub to stop in before the game. An away friendly one, anybody know of any?

    4-4-2

    Krul
    Janmaat Willo Colo Haidara
    Sissoko Tiote Colbeck Aarons
    Rivierre Chucky/Ayoze

Perhaps Gouffran up front and (an assimilating Cabella) be brought on in the second half as impact players.

I'm thinking a resounding defeat for us, with Shane Long a certainty to score.

Joshua Tree. Seven mins walk form the ground in Millbank St. Full of Saints fans (but very friendly ones).

We were depressed when we saw all our best players being sold but you guys are well out in front on the depression stakes.

I am hoping for an entertaining game of football with a narrow win for Saints.

You shouldn't forget that there is still some respect for Pardew amongst a section of Saints' fans for the good job he did in restoring some pride and belief in our club when we had hit rock bottom.

Rather sadly he is a bit of a one season manager as he quickly runs out of energy and ideas.

I am very surprised he is still with you.

How many players' wives has he shagged so far?

Christ, how many sets of fans have made the comment in bold!

Including us, that's got to be 4 or 5 now - I remember Hammers' fans coming out literally the day he was appointed saying "you'll get one decent season, then it's all downhill". 5th, 16th with Europe, 10th without and now staring at relegation. It really is a mystery how so many appalling managers keep getting jobs.

Aarons out injured for this one. All signs point to another depressing defeat.

I'm changing my prediction, from Saints winning 4-1 to Saints winning 4-0

It'll be humiliating lesson in attacking football.

And absolutely **** all will be done about it.

Fantastic news! So Pardew has finally realised that playing Obertan at centre back will bring out the best in him. Although the real master stroke is playing Willo on the wing so he can beat the fullback and cross in for Anita (in his new centre forward role) to flick on to Obertron making his late run from defence. Special mention to Krul for making the dummy run to pull the centre backs out if position and give Obertron the space. Would have been a perfect result if Tiote hadn't fluffed his save and let them get one back.

"Alan Pardew confirmed at his press conference on Thursday afternoon that a hamstring problem would sideline Rolando Aarons for an unspecified period. And as was the case with fellow injury victim Siem De Jong, the problem occurred during a training session. More positively, the calf injury that prevented Jack Colback from making his England debut has improved sufficiently for him to be a likely starter on Saturday. Facundo Ferreyra isn't in contention due to a fitness issue, while Cheick Tiote is expected to be among the substitutes at Southampton."

So Colback & Tiote 'might' feature.
