Last week there was an article in an Italian newspaper comparing Juventus to Hull City. The gist of it was that Hull City with no major trophies in it"s history can attract better players than Juve. Everyone spoke very highly of Hernandez and they were all surprised he did not go to one of the bigger clubs.
I can't imagine we could attract Carlos Tevez, Paul Pogba or Arturo Vidal to be honest. Actually if we're looking at this seriously - now obviously I didnt read the article....but does it really say 'Hull City can attract better players than Juve'? As both an Interista and Hull City fan I'd love it to be the case but I cant think of a single Hull City player who would even make the Juve bench never mind the first team so it's a very strange piece. And does anyone want to take a guess or even know what our top earner and total wage bill is? Tevez earns 4.5m euro pa and their wage bill is 118m euro (see link). I'm guessing we're nowhere near that whilst most suggestions are that our top earner picks up £50kpw so £2.5m pa. http://www.football-italia.net/55631/de-rossi-top-earner-salaries-drop So it's a pretty s**t article really.
I can see where the article is trying to get at, but at the same time, we can offer him playing time, and not just bench time, if Juve really wanted him I'm sure he would've gone there no doubt about that. But as luck has it, we have him and he will g et more playing time with us in the greatest league in the world.
