Speaking via video link at Manchester's Soccerex, the Swiss also confirmed his intention to stand for re-election. The 78-year-old wants coaches to be allowed at least one challenge against a decision per half. "They have the right in the half, twice or once, to challenge a refereeing decision but only when the game is stopped," he said. "Then, there must be a television monitor but by the television company and not by another referee. Coaches in the NFL have the authority to challenge an official's decision "And then the referee and the coach, they will go then to look, and then the referee may change his mind, as it is the case in tennis, for instance." "It can only be done where there is television coverage of all the matches," added Blatter. "Or in one Fifa competition, we can try in a youth competition, an Under-20, like next year when we are in New Zealand." In a wide-ranging interview, Blatter also stated: The 2022 World Cup in Qatar will have to be played in winter and consultation has started with the players' union FIFPro, clubs, leagues and the six continental federations about moving the tournament. A boycott of the 2018 World Cup in Russia would not work as such a move in sport "never has any benefit". He wants "respect, fair play and perhaps also the truth" over allegations over corruption within Fifa. He still respects Greg Dyke despite criticism from the Football Association chairman. Blatter also announced his intention to seek a fifth term in charge of world football's governing body and will make an official announcement at Fifa's executive committee meeting between 25-26 September. He had told delegates at a Uefa congress in March 2011 that he would definitely stand down in 2015. However, that plan has now been shelved, with Blatter completing a U-turn. If technology takes football over then it will end football as we know it. It can then be played for the benefit of TV so stadiums will be redundant. Just wish commentators could live with mistakes whoever makes it.
He's got to try and stay in the job, because he's afraid that if he goes, all of the skeletons will be found. He is the most corrupt figure in football and to stay where is is for so long, obviously has the goods(probably photo's with a donkey) on those who run the game worldwide.
I said before - "is it/isn't it over the line" for goal-line technology was refused by Blatter when England made the argument after a decision went against us for it. (Germany game) - but as soon as one goes in our favour where goalline tech would've seen us suffer (correctly) he brought it in!! And add to that the fact that there have been maybe 2 or 3 requirements nfor it in all competitions since it was introduced and there have been in excess of 50 incorrectly disallowed goals due to incorrect off-sides then the money wasted on goalline tech has been stupid. At the end of the day we want a fair result - if it's implemented in the proper way then great - if it's a case of it adds half an hour to the game then it can't be done. Play on and let the fourth umpire deal with the referral but a coach has only 5 seconds to decide (and should set up a signal with a player) and cannot use the tech before deciding.
